So...halfway through the 1st week of the Handicap Comps and here are the current leaders (only players who have completed count):
PGA9 - LES1959
PGA18 - migs
Stableford - ergo76prop
Tuff Stuff - ergo76prop
Steve is having a good week playing better than normal, but different names appearing, which is what I was hoping for!
The Player v Joe scores obviously keep moving as more players post scores, but Joe Champion is proving a tough nut to crack at present with most people having 1 not so good round at least.
A word on the leagues for each competition. If you are wondering why you are in the Division you are to begin with, it is based on the last 10 events in that comp and your handicap score. To be included initially, you had to have posted 16 rounds out of the 40 otherwise you get added to the qualifier league this month. The tables will settle quickly because any non players in the top Divisions automatically get relegated to make way for active players.
Hope that makes sense.
Andy

New Events 1st week update
The scores may be unrealistic, or even a joke but heyho, that's what we got.
Play well and enjoy your game everyone!
btw, not a game for snowflakes.

Re: New Events 1st week update
Andy, first off - great job with the handicap tables!
I do have a question concerning the systematic involved. Can you elaborate on the "Handicap Penalty"? Thank you in advance - John

Re: New Events 1st week update
Thanks John,
The "penalty" is for newcomers or those who don't play often which can have misleading handicaps without any penalty. Usual stats thing, need a decent sample base to be confident it is accurate.
If you have played under 16 rounds out of the last 40 for that event, you get penalised either 2 shots for 9 holers and 4 shots for 18 holers per round.
If you have played under 9 rounds, that penalty is doubled.
Hope that makes sense.
