Media Heights

Post by ILCivEng »

Is there something different with the latest course media heights? 709 MB is by far the largest course in the JPNG family. It may take an hour to download and then I dont think it will load and play on my feeble computer. Just wondering what would cause a course to be this big.

Yes Joe, I was wondering why the file (709 Mbs) was so huge too. One of Roy Barley's other courses, Crossgates, weighs in at 380 Mbs unzipped, while Brook Vale comes in at a more reasonable 180 Mbs. I would also like to know what causes the first two to be so 'heavy'...

Yes the file size is huge. Hopefully it won't cause problems. I have a lot of custom stuff and I'll try to clean up the file of unused stuff before I release the course.

The file size is a big one but after playing the course I'd have to say it's one of the realistic courses I've played. The scenery is great, the greens are on the small size as they are on the real course and have a small slant to them to accept long irons in.
A good putter shouldn't have a problem, in my case it either goes in or not.

It took the course around 55 seconds to load for me.

Good one Roy just a little too heavy for the game to handle in its current state.

The course plays great and it looks very nice too.

Extremely slow loading time but worth it. : ))

Regards & thanks to whoever made it.
