Events and OOM

It's been touched upon in the OOM poll, but please place comments on the type of events and OOM you would like to see, just to get a gauge of what people like.

So currently we have:

Year long Order of Merit
Seasonal (3 months) points tables for individual events - PGA9, PGA18, Stableford - you can get a Seasonal overall OOM from my Stats section.
4 Country Clubs which have their own OOM table and Honours Boards
Fortnightly Handicap event
Weekly PGA9, PGA18, Stableford, Skillz, Hazard and Tough Stuff, Pair Up and Monthly Open with an half way cut all with Tiered Honours Boards
Online Leagues (handicapped)
Weekly online Mid Week challenge with monthly tables and qualifying for year end event
Weekly online Seasiders Challenge for fun.

Let me know if I've missed anything.

Over to you, what would you like to see - no guarantees that anything will come of this, but like I said, nice to get ideas from people.

no country clubs they finished off wgtls. would like guilds or a team event to start up

Sorry, have to disagree, but then that's the point of discussions!

Part I loved about WGT at the time was Country Clubs and when some guys started inter Club events, really got the club together. In this game, it is quite different, you can play in more than one, just a way for some people to have more specifically designed events, like the RTCC which is great for the Controller, Mouse guys...keeps us 3C at bay, lol.

How would Guilds work please?

everyone ended up arranging games through their country club and then no one came into the m&g. As it stands wgtls has 600 members but only about 30 real members. life now is people staring at their mobile phones with no one actually talking to anyone else wgtls is becoming just like that 90% are staring at the screen playing solo and not talking to anyone else. just sad.

sorry terry, I read wgt, not wgtls..I recognise that is different and wasn't involved so can't comment on that.

Got to dissaggree terry. Guilds were the problem in WGTLS, every player were coming in to play guild games no one wanted anything else in the end I joined a Country club just to get a game lol.

I play mostly PGA9, 18 , Open and Classic. Also play Pair up and League Tables. I do feel that h/capps need to be capped, perhaps +6 -6

+6/-6 is to high for match play stroke play maybe ok. at least with guilds people came in the m&g not so with country clubs games were arranged in country clubs not m&g

in real golf, a 3 handicapper would have to give a 28 handicapper 25 shots...you wouldn't get this "oh you can only have a maximum of 9 because I have to give you so many shots".

That's not saying I disagree that handicaps on pc games should be limited, they should because it is a game and much more manipulated. I think limit the plus to 6 and no limit on the minus number. Not sure it I had to play against someone at -4 they would be happy just getting 2 shots, if I am -8 I should play at -8, jmho.

No other ideas for events or wishes to throw into the mix anyone? always good to have ideas even if they can't be created, maybe something similar could be, you don't know until your idea is aired.

How about leagues, a bit like you used to keep records of for the PGA18 etc. I know there is a league competition running at the moment, but that is playing online with others. I know people will jump on me and say we should play online with others etc, but with the stutters playing online, RTSM is virtually impossible. It is also the time constraints, when I have played online before I have played a 3-ball in PGA18 and it took over 3 hours! Also distractions whilst playing, I have a young family, I may have to go off and deal with one of them, are people going to be happy waiting whilst I do so. I don't understand why people that play solo always get such a battering.
