Swing Meter
Hi Folks
Recently had to upgrade my NVIDIA card to a GTX-1050 ti running the latest driver. Now my swing meter is never there at the start of a shot and when I get it back the meter completes the shot automatically and results in a duff shot. Had to give up because the game is now unplayable. Has anyone else ever experienced anything like this.
Best Regards
John

Re: Swing Meter
Just tried the 1st hole in the current stableford competition and no problems at all so I dont think it is the driver.

Re: Swing Meter
Just a guess John
When upgrading your video card you must remove all instances of your old card and files, then install your new driver for the 1050 ti.

If it doesn't fix your problem I have a manual way but it is time consuming.

Re: Swing Meter
Hi Randy
I have run DDU and each and every update of a driver that I do.
I have also re-installed the game.
Some courses show the swing meter correctly every time and some courses if you select left or right or fly past eventually display it.
This particular tourney at Bear Mountain is a nightmare if I eventually get the meter to display by any of the above and then click to start the swing the swing just terminates and creates a duff shot. Given up on that Tourney now.

Re: Swing Meter
Hello John,
While I didn't have the disappearing meter I did have the jitters, pauses and jumpy game that made it impossible to play.
I didn't use the DDU but I pretty much followed what it is suppose to do; but before I removed or installed anything I did a complete clean install of windows 10 and after that I manually removed everything remaining Nvidia from my computer including cleaning the three folders mentioned in the system32 files and registry files.
I did all this in 'safe mode' besides the clean install of windows.
If after another try manually and it's still not right maybe a clean install is in order being you must have a corrupted file somewhere.
Or run from the admin command prompt.
Fix – Corrupted system files Windows 10
Press Windows Key + X to open Win + X menu and choose Command Prompt (Admin).
When Command Prompt opens, enter sfc /scannow and press Enter.
The repair process will now start. Don't close Command Prompt or interrupt the repair process.
If doing manually do a restore point and a registry backup.
It's been 3 or 4 months since I did the above and the game still runs slick as ice

Re: Swing Meter
Thanks for that reply, may be very useful.
I have since linked the problem with the option 'Pause on render'. The only time I get a problem is when somehow the option 'Pause on Render' has no effect ie no pause ever takes place regardless of the option settings.
is it possible that the option is being disabled when creating a tourney?

Re: Swing Meter
"Pause on Render" isn't an option we can set when setting up the PGLS tournies and is therefore down to the player.

Re: Swing Meter
I thought that would be the case so the only other conclusion is that there is a bug in the game which totally ignores this setting under certain circumstances. I will continue to investigate why this happens and let you know how I get on. Thanks for your help on this everyone.

Re: Swing Meter
Hi Everyone
I have been downloading older drivers from NVIDIA for the GTX-1050ti card and trying them out. I am now on 411.70 and I am getting great results for this driver which has solved the two problems that I previously had:
Swing Meter is now there 90% of the time and the option to 'Pause Rendering on swing' works 100%. Swing meter is now totally free of stutters and I am now a happy boy again. Hope this will also help other people out there who may have had the same problem.
