What causes high Ping (If that is what it's called) when someone else is hosting a game, I get this a lot when playing with a certain player the ball just seems to float through the air, and the frame rate seems to drop real low. Is there something that I could do on my end to help this.

Normally this would be the hosts low upload speed rather than their download.
I never used to host when my broadband speed was 5Mbps download and only 768Kbps upload as the end user experience for the non-hosts was ruined.
Thankfully now with a 75Mbps download and 20Mbps upload it's no longer a problem.
