used to be a good tourney

Post by davefv92c »

you know this used to be a good tourney, now days it is nothing but
hit em hard as hell and hope you hit the mark, sometimes the shots can not even be
reachable just turned into a joke. i used to tell new players wanting to learn to make sure you play the skills tourney
great learning tool. well not any more. i have noticed it seems less and less play it so i doubt im the only one who has noticed this.
damn shame just one more thing not to do to keep the players busy well i'm out of it till we start getting some courses where the designers really understand how to set up the challenge tee's
damn shame i will say it again.

Dave,

Any courses where the green cannot be reached for the purposes of the CTP have been removed from the roster. You setup this topic to highlight the issue that not all courses were reachable which led me to filter out the courses that were no good.

viewtopic.php?f=61&t=1747

What I will do is ask the CTP setter to check the course they are about to use for reachable greens. By default when I add new courses if said course has "Challenge" tees I automatically set it for inclusion in CTP, in other words I don't actually test the course.

thanks Mark, in today's i don't remember which hole but there is a 262 and you hit off the fairway
getting loft is not that good when you use the driver from the fairway and you have to hit the shot over some tall trees i did make it over the trees on the second shot but with the loft i lost distance, so with a little wind in your face it would not be doable, there where a couple of holes where the driver was needed, the newer courses are the one's that are the worst the older courses i went through a couple of years ago in the list give you a good assortment of shots. most in this weeks where long shots, the others have just about all the different shots covered, like i have said a great learning tool for new folks and it was also how i learned the different shots, the long splash, chips and pitches need to be covered in these tourneys.
if your skills setter would like a little help testing courses he can get in touch with me and i would gladly give them a hand testing the courses as they come out. just my 2 cents worth
