What's happened to Skilz

Post by NIBNOB »

Skilz used to all about close in shots around the greens(chips, flops and splash's) with the odd longish approach ...... now it seems that every week we get 200+ yards from the rough on most shots.....these long shots are not skilz shots imho.....last weeks Harbour town and this weeks Kemper courses are not much fun from challenge tees.....or is it just me?

i have gotten to skipping that tourney now it just is about blasting long shots out of the rough anymore.
i spoke on this last week and i guess my post did no good, and to many people are afraid of speaking their minds here on this site.
i got no back up on my post from no one last week, so im here to give some on yours. nothing ever changes less people speak on it
some do in the lobby window as i have seen a couple of complaints about it this morning, but not enough you know what to come here and post where it counts. thanks for your post Mark

I agree.

Since the most welcome move to 18 holes, it seems like a torrent of 200+ yard challenges from thick rough with trees to negotiate.

I don't want to complain, really. I love this tourney but it gets me down more often than not these days.

All good points. The game is called Skillz not Arcade Skillz where you have to go through trees or make 280 yd shots with a driver from a fw. Why can't we actually have each hole be a skill shot not a kill shot.

hi guys, i totally agree and i set the bloody thing.as you can imagine theres loads of courses i can pick from with pre-determined shots which i cant see.Itry to pick different course each week, but lately not been too good. It would be good if we could test every course to find out and delete bad ones from list.will be a right task and very time consuming. any suggestions would be appreciated.

if you work from the list that i have already posted you would be ok.
i put that up a while back i would not have a problem in testing the new courses as that come out
and adding the good one's to the list. have you ever even looked at this thread at the top?
viewtopic.php?f=61&t=1747 and no im not trying to be a smart ass, just wondering
i spent days testing these courses to weed out the crap at the time.

ok i have figured out where to start testing courses for the skills, from
when i stopped back in 2017 so i will be adding to the good to use list soon
duncan all you have to do as the setter of these tourneys in the future is go to the list at the top
of this forum and use the list, i would also avoid using any wind over strong breeze as im not testing for the krazy winds.lol
