Sounds like the party is over for Sim Pass users next August..

I wonder what this might mean for just "normal" PC users of the PG1 game.

Could be very not good...I hope that's not where we are heading..
The alternatives are not good and/or ancient..

Not good for the game as TM owns the rights now and I fear we might be coming to the end of the line. Very sad if true.

I doubt this pertains to PC/PG players. Steam would have to decide to drop the game. I find that highly unlikely.

I don't know about that - I'm pretty sure a publisher can pull a game from Steam if they want to.
It'd be really odd for a developer to be forced to keep a game on Steam and have no way to opt out totally.

Licensing of content and resources can change for a developer or title thus necessitating a pull from something like Steam, so I don't see how they could really "force you to stay on Steam" if they don't want a title out in the wild anymore.

cannot believe jack nicklaus has endorsed a game thats practically none existant, surely he wouldnt have put his name to perfect golf knowing it was no longer going to be supported
