Survivor event

Post by terbal »

Nice new event. I would like to suggest something to even things up. Perhaps if tour pro's get 1 go at each round, pro's get 2 goes and ammy/hackers get 3 goes.

Nice idea Terry, but I don't agree with that as there are people playing at a higher level than they may be competitive at, and maybe visa versa. Don't think anyone should get extra goes because they play at a lower level.
The scores may be unrealistic, or even a joke but heyho, that's what we got.

Play well and enjoy your game everyone! :drinks:

btw, not a game for snowflakes.

well people might get fed up with the same people winning, as for people playing at higher level than they should be thats wrong they should be at the level their average dictates surely

They might, but the idea is for people to try to get to r2, then next time to r3, next time r4..all about having a go.

As for playing at levels higher, I should clarify what I meant. Not everybody can be at the top of the level. There are many shooting higher scores than the level below but they are still not entering the "can go down a level bracket". They are not at the wrong level necessarily.

it was only an idea to level things up andy. but most can predict the top 3 in the end every week just like the open

yep, taken as that terry, a good idea to bring up. Hopefully as it is just on a 9 hole round each time...different people may play really well at the right time and new names may appear near the top!

I personally find this event refreshing and even tho I have no chance to win the goal is to at least get to the 2nd round and then the next which I find more interesting than playing four rounds guaranteed. What I would really like to see is the PGA18 go to a cut event after two rounds with the top 67% or so moving on to the final two rounds each week sort of like the old cut tournaments we used to have at links at the Harbor Club. If you do a cut then players have something to shoot for each week and if you make the cut then you will more than likely play all four rounds. Yes the same people might win each week but hey it gives the rest of us something to shoot for. Just my 2 cents.

Thanks Greens...just been doing some looking at the Divisions rounds, which are on an individual basis too.

There have been 32 different players so far that have posted either the best score outright or joint best score in a round:

11 Affo
6 ergo76prop
3 charlieb
3 Step
3 bobfletch
2 NIBNOB
2 scoops100
2 Riddler
2 Sikkum
2 Chicas
2 BlackCat0315
2 jspirate
2 lilpoison
1 Haesy007
1 DrDeath
1 JoeMen
1 alanj312
1 bpatrick4489
1 bbbuckshot1
1 stringb
1 LinksPro
1 rduffy
1 LinsPro
1 duncanmathieson
1 Makosha
1 sk1pmcgee
1 cubbies645
1 Stoney
1 Often Rong
1 Wolle
1 ollybobbles
1 pctyoyo

So as you can see, yes, the samish people may make the last 10, but lots of people can shoot the best on a 1 off round...it is anybody's really!
