If either file is missing it will flag up there is an issue with the course in the middle section of the PGLS PG Courses Checker Utility.

Required course files missing! Check the contents of this folder.

and it will therefore list it as not installed in the lower section.
:hmmm:
I'm still puzzled as to why the utility reported that Sand Hollow was installed and up to date on my computer, when it wasn't. I keep all of the courses I've downloaded (every version) and I had no versions of Sand Hollow downloaded. I also did not have it in my courses folder, it wasn't in my spreadsheet list, nor did it appear in the PG carousel. The utility reported that I had it installed, but it wasn't.

It doesn't really matter, though, as I've now downloaded and installed the course - thanks to fungolfer's post. It just makes me wonder if I need to double check all the listed courses in the utility. Four days ago, I did check the courses in my folder against my spreadsheet list and found one course installed that I had neglected to add to my spreadsheet. According to the v1.11 of the PGLS utility, there are 413 courses in my folder and 385 courses in the PGLS database.

Looks like I know how I'll be spending some of my Sunday afternoon ....

Without being privy to your setup I have no idea.

Sure fire way to test my utility is to cut / paste a folder to your desktop out of your "Courses" folder and run my utility. For obvious reasons it should pick up a course is missing. Just cut / paste the course back to your "Courses" folder again to restore it.

I have all my courses on a external HDD, that might be the only difference. Is it possible that another course has a similar description file? What Armand writes wouldn't make any sence if not. But I'm not sure at all...:hmmm:

I seriously doubt it as the .description file contains all information about tees, pin positions etc for each course let alone the actual name of the course which it also contains.

I've tried to make sure my utility is as thorough as possible but if there is something not right I will check it.

I just checked all of my courses against the utility - no other issues. It doesn't make any sense to me that Sand Hollow was flagged as "up to date", yet I didn't have it installed (I promise!). I'm going to chalk it up to some strange anomaly on my computer. I moved my entire Steam installation to D:\_Games\Steam some time ago, but that has never caused me trouble (I originally only moved PG to the D:\ drive, but that seemed to cause some grief, so I moved the entire Steam installation and there have been no issues since).

My course review has revealed several that are available that aren't in the PGLS database. I'm reaching out to designers to see if there are objections to their courses being added to PGLS before providing download links.

It seems that PGLS is only offering the 3DG versions of some courses recently released with 3D grass. I don't want to ask to have the non-3DG version added back in, if that is the 'policy' going forward. Can you confirm, Mark?

**** EDIT: I just completed your test, Mark. I moved Sand Hollow out of my courses folder and the utility indicated it was there. To be certain, I closed the utility and then re-opened it. It still reported the course was up to date:

I tried a different course - Sapphire Lake, and the utility correctly reported that it was missing when I moved it to the desktop.
When I moved Sand River from the courses directory, I finally got the message the Sand Hollow was also missing:

When I added Sand River back into the folder, both Sand Hollow and Sand River were reported to installed (although Sand Hollow still remained on my desktop). Somehow, Sand River and Sand Hollow seem to be joined at the hip. Interestingly, when I remove Sand River from the game, then I'm told there is an update for Sand Hollow ....

I hope this testing helps you track down the small issue with the utility.

:hmmm:

Bug confirmed. I removed "Sand River" from my list of installed courses and my utility told me there was an update to "Sand Hollow" as a result

Putting "Sand River" back in cleared both issues.

We should always retain the non 3DG version for players who may not have a GPU good enough to render 3D grass although I am aware that adding it seems to make no difference to the performance of the course.

Issue fixed.

For some reason we had the same hash (which identifies the course) for both "Sand River" and "Sand Hollow" courses.

Another question :)

Today I had some courses in the list to download. When downloading Sand Hill the file name is sandhills-beta .zip Not sure if this is the wrong link or simply the file name wasn't changed. Short Info would be appreciated :)

Same with Viper Flats and Blue Marlin Resort...
