There were a few holes on the American tour this week that had some holes on slopes. Not too bad but something to take note of for next time.

Also, I prefer to take a realistic approach to greens. Why are we playing perfect greens? Shouldn't we be playing realistic like on tour? Like the fact that we could be having a great round and actually miss a putt here and there. This fixes issues with those that are robots on the green as well. It is the same for all either way I suppose, just prefer realistic when given the option.

Is 14 stimp a little high for tour, not sure what they are running these days. Thought they were supposed to fix them to around 12?

realistic greens are a joke. if those where set we would have fewer players
as I know of quite a few people who would not play with them being used along with myself.
14 stemp is fast but not to fast for the tour. as for the video this is a game.

The issue with using "Realistic" and "Bumpy" greens is it wouldn't be the same for all players.

If for arguments sake we had 2 players putting out from 5 feet in the same spot and 1 got a bounce that jumped the hole but the other players ball went in, well I'm sure we wouldn't hear the last of it.

Hence realistic! And yes, this is a SIM; Golf in real life is a game as well, no? No, it wouldn't be the same for every player, your correct Mark. However, they would get their bumps, as in real life (but we still play real golf Dave), from differing places. Jeez Dave, settle down. I'm not attacking your character here. We are trying to reflect a tour feel here and I thought a couple suggestions may make it nearer to the real thing. Sorry for voicing my opinion, I can see opinions are not welcome. Have a great game and hit em in the hole.

Not a fact, but rather a claim from one who prefers a non-realistic feel for greens. We all like people who think like us, makes us feel better, no?

Never tried it, not a fact!

14 is usually reserved for majors not tournaments played in places like the mid west and Iowa. You should know this.

As for golf itself, it is also a game! Why we even doing tour mode if it's going to be arcadish? Is that a word? Oh well ,made one up!

A fact is a thing known to be true. Truth is universal and has to be proven or believed by all. However, if not believed by all it has to not be proven fallible. Maybe I'm not totally out of sorts, but rather just a curios gamer in both the real golf world and the arcadish golf world. Heaven knows, I've played enough golf to know!

yada yada yada,
you know the first 2 years I played this game I played nothing but realistic greens so I have
had a big taste of them. all I will say and end it at that, realistic greens were so unrealistic I had to put them down.
I guess we are all allowed to our own opinions after all this is just a game.
and believe me, there friend I may be a long-haired hippie biker and throwback to the 60s but I grew up in this real-life game and spent more time in my younger years on the course, and in the pro shops my family-owned then I would even care to think about.

Wow, 14 stimp on Crystal Pines hard greens. 4th round I made a put from about 20 feet away, went by the hole at about a 12 inch diameter, around it, and back down to me from the other side. Albeit, the ball went around the hole, not straight up a hill that didn't make it to the hole, it went around it. When holes are being placed on slopes, yes, 14 is way too high a stimp. It is good to see the highest stimp is 13 this week at Torrey. Although, a 5 stimp change from 1st round to last is a bit on the screwy side, no? Even people who have been around country clubs and golf pro's their whole life would recognize that, no?

Tiger Woods just had a 4 putt on hole No. 1 at Torry Pines this weekend. Putting is a HUGE part of the game and arguably the greatest test of skill on some holes.

In my opinion, there has been nothing wrong with the pins or stimp on the greens we play. There is an occasional hole that makes you pay if you are not careful, but thats how it should be. Sometime you have to swallow your pride and play for a 2 putt instead of trying to firm in that birdie.

Thats the problem with realistic greens. They take away some of the skill in favor of chance.

Just my humble opinion...
