What happened to the wind?
What happened to the wind?
Not complaining or having a cry or anything like that but, 'What happened to the wind'
On the American Tour
Week 5
all 4 rounds were 'calm'
Week 6
3 rounds at calm, 1 at Breezy (also must note that all stimps 12 and under and no hard fairways or greens)
Week 7
all 4 rounds were calm and as above, all stimps 12 and under, no hard fairways or greens.
The next step to make it easier is to move 60 yards further up the fairway and hit off the 'Ladies' tees, and I'm not doing that.

Re: What happened to the wind?
Jim, I believe the setters are setting by what the weather where the course
is from, after looking at this week weather where Riviera is located there has been next to no wind there this week.
there are trying to make the conditions as close as they can to the location of the real course.
great job there Alan, and charlie

Re: What happened to the wind?
Really enjoyed playing the continental tour this week, even though I finished tour on +15. Front nine was my downfall on first 3 rounds but so glad the conditions were not Hard Stimp 14 lol. I was glad to at least complete my final round -1. Bonville is a tough course but one I always enjoy playing, its very challeging with a good variety of holes
Re: What happened to the wind?
Yep, totally understand that they are trying to match weather conditions to real life conditions. was a little breezy there today. However could have increased the stimp a little, not complaining or bitching just stating my point.
Also, another Aussie winner today. I think that is 3 on the US tour so far this year and 3 on the Euro.

Re: What happened to the wind?
I do the tournaments Thursday AM so if the weather forecast changes after that I can't change the conditions. PB good example. Made that last round breezy but it actually turned out quite windy Sunday. Second thing is have many new players, playing in theses tours, so trying to make it less frustrating. Even with calm winds not getting crazy low scores especially in the Continental Tour. As far as stimp just thought I would give the group a couple weeks of no 13 and 14 stimps. They will return as well as hard greens. Comments are appreciated, good or bad. Members who contribute to these tournaments, knowing we are doing our best is appreciated even more. After doing conditions for over a year I have learned you can't appease everyone, but understanding that is our goal should also be considered.

I am one of those who likes 13 and 14 stimp, but I understand that no mater what you do, someone will not be happy. As a result, I thank you for your efforts Riddler

Re: What happened to the wind?
Appreciated that you cannot please everyone and I thank you for your time and efforts. I just thought that after 3 weeks that these types of conditions were going to become the norm. I read in a previous post that on some courses it would have been just plain unfair to have 13 or 14 stimp, agreed. No problem, you have it in hand.
I am also one that likes the 13 and 14 stimp but we have to try to please everybody and that's very difficult.

Re: What happened to the wind?
Nautilus Bay, IMO probably the greatest course that isn't real (highfade is a gun designer)
Hard fairways, hard greens, 13 or 14 stimp, wind, doesn't matter ya going to have a heap anyway.
Now, if you were in a good mood at the first tee don't expect to be the same way at the 18th green.
Played in twice one night with those conditions. finished a bottle of red whilst doing so, the red didn't help at all.
