Good afternoon PGLS Folks,
Dave notified me of this post and advised me to take a look. Thanks Dave!
I downloaded and closely reviewed (numerous times) and documented the sht files, thank you Charlie.
I entered practice mode in similar conditions (Breezy, the rest didn't make any difference, wasn't attempting to hit the Green or putt, only duplicate the shots) and Mulligans on.
On my 8th attempt on Hole 2, I hit the collider. Tee Shot.
On my 6th attempt on Hole 11, I hit the collider. Tee Shot.
On my 7th attempt on Hole 13, I hit the collider. Fairway Shot (181 yards out)
The above being said, GWS and I have hit several hundred (300?) balls there while early on testing and I have hit a similar amount (200 - 250?) during Beta testing the course. Never had a collider. Not one.
However: Sht files don't lie. Period. Ratz.
SO everyone . . . I have contacted GWS and he is removing all the tall Palms that line the course. They are OLD Unity Palms. He is replacing them with much newer Coconut Palms that don't exhibit that habit. He is moving the tall ones to the outer edge of the course, well out of play.
So PGLS Folks, expect an update to this course soon.
We are both rather sorry this has come up (I'm more than just a little embarrassed), I doubt GWS will be using THOSE Palms next to the course anytime soon . . .
Best regards,
Kevin G.

Re: Qatar Masters
I encountered the same problem as Charlie on two holes. Unfortunately, I didn't replay/record the problem shots nor do I recall which hole numbers were involved. Same glitch... invisible branches. Otherwise, a fun course to play.

Re: Qatar Masters
No need to apologise Kevin this is a great course. I've had this problem on a few courses in the past but you just get on with it after all it's the same for everyone. Having said that Charlie was right to bring this to attention as it will make a great course even better.

Kevin. Thanks for looking at this again. No need to apologize. I am grateful, like others here, that designers take the time to put out some great courses. It was just my day to come across the anomalies with this one. Look forward to the next version.

Re: Qatar Masters
Certainly no need for apologies. Like all course designers you do a fantastic job of providing us with all these great courses.Kevin G. wrote: Sat Mar 07, 2020 11:26 pm Good afternoon PGLS Folks,

Re: Qatar Masters
Hello again PGLS Folks,
GWS is working on Towering Palms now. Please forgive the delay, see below.
He has removed the tall Palms and replaced them with Coconut Palms. He has smoothed a couple of Greens, hollowed out more than a few Bunkers and is re-texturing the entire course. Remember to turn Dynamic Sky off to see the Sky Box he is using. He is guessing a week.
We have been working on two new courses in the mean time.
One of them has been a REAL BUGGER to work with and he almost abandoned the project a time or three. We just spent all afternoon fixing areas on the course and we *THINK* it is ready to release to you folks today or tomorrow latest. I will put a pre-release link up on Caddyshack and it will be Final 1 (once the Mega upload is complete). The course is called "Coconut Cove" and is a Tropical Island course with lots of coves around the course. Head over to Caddyshack and get the pre-release if you wish. Please advise us of any issues on Caddyshack . This course has been MOST unpleasant to 'get right'. I will post it there once GWS uploads it to Mega. I suspect it will be released on PGLS tomorrow, or the day after latest.
The other course is called "Deadman's Folly". GWS thinks he will release that one tomorrow (only has 16 holes completed so far). *I* don't think that will happen, still needs a BUNCH of testing (and two more holes). Once again, turn Dynamic Sky off to see the Sky Box he is using. Honestly, expect this one in a week, not tomorrow (not a chance).
Once the two new ones are released, we will go back into test mode on Towering Palms and make sure all is right there. I have not shot it since GWS has replaced the Palms, smoothed a few Greens, redid some Bunkers and is still re-textured the whole course. I believe he is through to hole 5 (6?) with the texture redo.
Thank you for your patience, these things don't happen overnight. The very last thing we want is to release a POS for your 'enjoyment' . . . sheesh.
Best Regards,
Kevin G.
