Thank goodness for PG.. I'm over 70 and also a diabetic. We have started voluntary Isolation as a precaution. Tried to order groceries online today for home delivery it was impossible Tesco are full up for at least a week and even if I wanted to Click and Collect the nearest store to me in Skegness is over 50 miles away in Kings Lynne. I posted on my facebook page asking for ideas or where to go and was overwhelmed by offers of help if I need it from friends.

So glad PG is still running it will allow me time to play and hopefully more will come in to M&G for a chat. Really enjoying playing at the moment, my scores are still up and down but at least I am able to compete against players with simular scores as myself.

I hope all of the PG community get through this, stay safe and look after yourselves and enjoy the game.

Did they actually attempt to make a film out of that? I always was kind of hoping but figured there was no way to do it justice.
Yes they did, and they actually did a decent job of it. It is a four part mini-series...so 8-ish hours long. Screenplay was by the man himself...Stephen King.
CBS All Access is redoing "The Stand".Supposedly King is rewriting the ending.Maybe the baby doesn't live which would mean the end of humanity.Much stronger cast in my opinion.I thought Molly Ringwald was terrible.

I agree with the Molly Ringwald assessment, she was definitely not great. And I do like that they separated the Rita Blakemoor / Nadine Cross characters in this new one (which King combined in the first mini-series for some reason). But I liked the rest of the cast. Ruby Dee was spot on as Mother Abigail (set to be Whoopi Goldberg in this new one). Sinise as Stu Redman, Ray Walston as a perfect Glen Bateman, and the rest of the cast all did great. I was surprised to see an African-American cast as Larry Underwood in this remake. I suppose it could fit, but I never envisioned Larry as black. The first actor, Adam Storke, looked exactly as I pictured him in the book. It is definitely not a deal breaker though.

We were watching HBO's "The Outsider" (another S.King book made into a series) when we saw Holly Gibney was being played by a black woman. We groaned at "yet another pc whatever" but the actress was very good.
