Ballyhack Final Release

Post by bortimus »

Course: https://www.dropbox.com/s/85drs3lrlj9i9 ... a1.7z?dl=0

All tees are included

Recommended playing with Dynamic Skies OFF

Still left to do:

Fill out the area around the clubhouse and possibly add other houses that are visible from certain areas of the course.

Other minor detail work and clean up some things that are outside the field of play.

I hope you have fun playing through Ballyhack. I really enjoyed building this one!

Any feedback is appreciated.

Mark just FYI Ballyhack is a real course recreation. It is located in Virginia.

It is currently labeled as fictional on the downloads page.

Thanks for all the feedback so far. Hope to have the final out by next week. A 3D grass version will be released in the future.

I overlooked the 18th championship tee on the overlay as it was hidden in the shadows of a tree! So the final will have the correct lengths for the 18th hole. I also realized the tree by the 18th fairway was too large and scaled it down after reviewing some footage.

I fixed several collider issues that people encountered.

FYI for course setup: I spoke to someone at Ballyhack today and he said their max stimp speed is 10.5. For my own rounds I use stimp 11 and it works well and plays fair.

Please don't turn the course into a torture device by letting the greens get out of hand! haha

TBH on the final release, I think I would wait till bortimus says to release rather than take a chance
at pissing off the designer due to not waiting. it is not like he is not around he is on the PP forums daily
just relax I think we may be getting in too much of a hurry to rushing some of these betas out without waiting to see what the designer
wants to do.

Thats what we do Dave (we await designers release). I have been taking a look at many of the new courses arriving lately, where they are on general release then I can consider inclusion for tours but I can pick beta courses to use in Mid Week Challenge and SSC pair up that way we can discover problems that designer can look at.

Updated with fixes from the beta version.
Hole 9 has been reworked to match the recent redesign. Championship tee was moved and the landing area is wider for a more aggressive teeshot.
Added some other minor details

Have fun!
