HEY DASHOTSHAPA - welcome.

Playing the Pairs 9 is not as obvious to join as say Divisions Pairs. Pairs 9 is more open ended as far as who your partner is.

Do you have someone in mind to be your playing partner, or are you looking to team up?
Time zones are important. Who you team with, and their time zone, will dictate your play window.

John

ps... what's your first name? Team competition is just that - you have a teammate. First names are cool.
If you want, I'll help you get started.

Hi Rich i have noticed you playing again, great to see you on here
again. you got to find you someone to partner up with is the first thing
as well as you play i doubt that to be much of an issue, you may try looking for a partner in the
meet and greet lounge when you see people on there up at the top of the page, if you use discord there is also a PGLS discord server
if you still use teamspeak the Caddyshack has a server that quite a few people use and it is a pretty easy place to find a game they also have their own weekly tourney. i have the HDH country club which i have already added you to the list so you can also play that tourney. these pairs tourneys are the best thing going here IMO once you have a partner you will have a blast playing them if you are ever just looking for a game i will friend up with you again on steam and please feel free to look me up.
great to see you back and looking to get some rounds in with you, i myself like the teamspeak chat or the steam chat is also a way to chat while shooting a round.

Rich,

Since you posted in the Pairs 9 forum, I take it you want to start with this tournament.

To start, both of you need to go into your PGLS Participation tabs (top right) and check the PairUp 9 "yes" box. This allows the tourny to show up ingame. One of you will host, starting by using the Enter button in the Steam lobby. Your partner needs to find your name in the Friends column and right click on the name to select Join. When both names appear in the pre-game setup, change both shirt colors to the same. Check off Start button and you're good to go. The formats change from week to week (alt shot, greensomes, or scramble), and can be found on the Course Setup tab.

PairUp 9 is a one week tourny of four rounds, opens Thursday at 7pm est, and closes Wednesday at same time. Play each round one a day, or all at once. Good luck, and play well.

Does it matter that he plays at the Pro level and I play at Amateur?

Rich / Randy,

Saw you teamed up and played 2 rounds of PairUp 9. Scramble is a lot of fun if you like lots of birdies. Your second round of 9 straight birdies was outstanding. Keep up the great play.

Your team might also be interested in the Divisions Pairs. Right now its 26 teams in 3 divisions - top 2 at the end of the month move up, bottom 2 down.
A secondary Pairs Cup uses the same scores, but in a 32 team single elimination competition. To qualify for the September Cup, your team needs to post a score in August, even if its at the end in week 5 (currently available to play until Saturday). All teams qualify if they post a score. The current bracket is in the Divisions Pairs 9 forum under August Cup if you want a look. If you have questions about how to form a team for this, ask away.

John
