unplayable course

Post by shotmaker1 »

Well here goes. Tried playing PGLS 18 at Cape kidnappers. It was impossible. Every time I had to use a wedge the game would stutter so bad I could not hit the line. Other courses played did not. So I deleted the course and reloaded, but still had same problem. So I will not be playing the 18. Anyone see any reason why this happens? Just plain weird.

I made this screenshot awhile ago for many players who run into lag, jitters etc. during game play. There are several possibilities including Down/Up speeds, but one that you can do on the fly is change the games graphics-qualities to what you see in my screenie. Tree quality is best set to 'medium' for many players but that has to be done when you end the round at a tee. This is helpful during any round where something "buggie" is going on, and might allow you to complete the rest of a round. Also consider disabling Sky Scattering and Adaptive Lighting.

Good luck! :good:

One poor shot into the trees and your competition is over ,12 shots later still trying to hack it out of the bushes on hole 16 after a promising round. Should be o.b and take a pen and a drop. But the course plays well and it was my error that caused this, I don't get the stuttering though. Might be a bit demanding on your p.c set up.

Had one case of swing meter epilepsy playing this course. Almost wish it was constant (or of course not occurring at all) so I'd be prompted to lower my graphical settings (a la Crusher) and the cause was more 'explainable'.
I do feel the swing meter is extremely 'liquid' (many slides) on this course. Have been experimenting with the new Nvidia Reflex params, but haven't seen any noticable effect yet.
On a sidenote: yes there should be OOB zones on certain holes here. Also have been hacking away from the bushes, cursing my decision not to rehit. Some greens are downright cruel when on higher stimps a reasonable approach rolls down into the abyss. Must conduct course management and aim for centre of green.

The Problem with the course is the dense undergrowth beyond the fairways. In real life a player would be entitled to deem the shot unplayable and drop the ball outside of the area at a loss of one shot. The game does not have this option, you should be able to use the hand icon at the right side of green to do this but its not funtioning and so the player has to hack away at the ball in the hope of getting back onto the fairway. The designer should have seen this and made problem areas OOB. It is a pity that a good course has been ruined all because there is no relief from a bad shot. Hopefully the designer will see this and put the problem right.
