silly low scores
Re: silly low scores
Silly low scores are inevitable on any golf game, people will always find a way.
The only way to stop it is to program things in such a way that they are physically impossible which then penalises everyone.
One thing that must be pointed out is that low scoring is not always a result of dirty tricks which means legitimate players are not getting the rewards for their good play if steps are taken.
My suggestion is either get used to it or get better.

Hello Noel,
Yes, you are quite correct that people will do anything to achieve low scores, and because of this we monitor every shot played on our site.
For example, this was what we found when looking into last week's results:
What is happening here is the game is closed when hitting a bad shot, and you then go back to the original position without any penalty.... Rather underhand, wouldn't you say, especially whn trying to achieve a top position in an event?
We see everything that occurs on the site.
If you were to come and play, then we would only allow that after a lengthy ban.
Good luck in finding competitive matches elsewhere.

Re: silly low scores
Now that made me chuckle!
The scores may be unrealistic, or even a joke but heyho, that's what we got.
Play well and enjoy your game everyone!
btw, not a game for snowflakes.

Re: silly low scores
People use to do that on the Links Tour years ago, close the game and come back. But the game would add penalty shots to there score, if they had to many disconnects. I cant remember now but I think after three disconnects, penalty shots were added.
Re: silly low scores
Future developments are working in this direction. We hope to see it in the upcoming upgrade, but if not, we will be instigating a scorecard penalty at PGLS to represent the shots which should have been added for an 'illegal drop'.
Re: silly low scores
Back then many people still had dial-up internet connections, so three disconnects were possible. But with today's high speed internet, I don't think anyone would have that many.
