Mid Week Challenge Scores and Report

Week 1 Scores: for 9 holes on Brandon Dunes Dan 26pts - Jollybandido 23pts - Seasider47 22pts - Kennetharry 17pts (7 holes)

Back Tees and soft greens encouraged high scores for ist game. Dan took the lead on hole 2 and kept it throughout with seas and jolly fighting out for 2nd and 3rd place, unfortunately Ken had to leave after 7 holes but was level with 2nd and 3rd at the time. This weeks score will be added on next week and at end of the month top pts scorer will be that months champ.

Set out to make this a fun high scoring game which is why I use back 9 pins and its certainly turned out to be both

Week 2 on Heritage coast and after a lot of rain the greens were soft and slow. but gusty winds and difficult pins still made it a test. All three (Dan, Ken and seasider got off to a great start with 3 birds on opening hole. Ken was plugged on 2nd in green side bunker and only scored one point whilst Dan doubled his tally. After this hole there were chip ins and long putts made throughout the game and it became a fight to the end between Ken and Dan with Dan just pulling it off by one. Great finish by Seasider with an Eagle on the last ... I then went out and marked Jollybandino and the high scores continued. Jolly stould on the 9th tee wanting a bird to equal Dan's score but unfortunately a waywould drive and clip of a tree ruled that out.

Dan Score 23pts, Ken 22pts Jolly 21pts and Seasider 19.. So after 2 weeks the total is Dan 49 pts - Jollybandino 44pts- Ken 39pts - Seasider47 41 points

Week 3 on Liberty National Back 9 There have become two front runners clearly now. Dan has been leading from week 1 but this week it was Kens turn to forge ahead but has Dan got a sufficient lead. Next week we find our first monthly Champ. There is also a race on for 3rd and 4th place with Jollybandido holding a 1 point lead.

Scores this week were: Ken 21 - Dan 18 - Jolly 13- Seasider 11
Overall score are Dan 67 - Ken 60 - Jolly 53 - Seasider 52

Week 4 of December and the Final round of the month and the year. For the last 4 weeks players have been racking up points to be named player of the month. This weeks Course Florida's Palm Beach apply named the "Blue monster". The games are set up to encorage high score but even playing off the back tees only took some of the sting out of this watery course. Unfortunately Dan Ferguson was unable to play tonight which opened up the way for other players to take the award, taking is place tonight and a first time player of this format was TexasAce. From the off Kennettharry set out to win the game and an Eagle on hole 11 gave him a clear lead. Seasider and Jolly coragously fought for 2nd and third place but disaster struck for TexasAce when trying to clear a large stretxh of water. Ken continued to lead throughout and it soon became clear that no one was going to over take him. Seasider and Jolly tied there game and Texasace followed closely behind.

This weeks scores were: Kennettharry 22pts- Jollybandino 19pts- Seasider47 19pts and TexasAce 15pts

Final Scores for December were : Kennettharry 82pts Jollybandino 72pts. Seasider47 71pts- Dan Ferguson 67pts - TexasAce 15pts

This Months PLAYER OF THE MONTH is Kennettharry with 82pts

Week 1 Thursday 4th January

High Gusts of wind affected scoring tonight on the back 9 of Carroch Loch. Once again numbers taking part in the game was up. Scoring was put back to nil tonight for the first Round in January. Ken and Seasider forght a great battle throgh early part of round but missed putts by Seasider would leave Ken with a commanding lead. Rascal could have been higher in the scoring but a visit to the cross fairway brook on 17th put paid to that. In the second group Jolly was Leading after 17th but failed to score on the final hole.

All points from tonights game will be carried over to next week and highest scorer at the end of the Month will be named Player of the Month

Week 2
2nd week into the month and we played tonight At The OLD WARDEN. Playing off the back tees can change a course and Old Warden is one of these. On at least 2 holes players wanting an opportunity to score needed to clear trees and this posed problems. !8 hole posed another challenge wether to clear edge of trees or go for the simple shot, Ken did just that in the early tee off and set the marker. But It was Jollybandino that stole the show with 22 pts

Week 3

Todays Course was Castle Heights a very tight course requiring prescision off the tee. Our leader was only able to play 4 holes but made 7 pts to add to his lead. A great battle between Duncan and Ergo dominated the game in the first group and looked very much as though it would end a draw right up to the final green where Ergo76prop finally went ahead by one. In the second group Jollybandino was not faring well but the 11 pts made would ensore that he narrowly takes a lead into the final round of the month.

Week 4 Mid Week Stableford Challenge venue Quaker Ridge Back 9

Difficult pins and a stimp of 13 played a big part in deciding the winner tonight. all but Seasider got of to a good start on hole one. Dunc blocked himself behind large tree on the next hole whilst Ergo missed all trees to give him a shot at green. look like the advantage was set to go Ergos way when his 2nd landed on the green, only to see it roll of into the water hazard. Having hit the green sideways Dunc played is third onto the frunt of the green only to see it roll back into the water hazard which open the way for Jolly to start is charge. Putting was difficult on fast greens but not for Jolly who 3 times chipped in from side of green. By the 16th it was clear that there was only going to be one winner. Well Done Jollybandino.

Week 5 1st wid week game of Feb Course Bethpage Red Front 9

Sunny Calm day saw some excellent golf tonight. 3 groups went out with a total of 11 players participating, our largest turn out yet
It was a close fought game With Seasider and Jolly both coming in Tied at 19pts in there 9. But It Was Dan in the second group that took the honours with a 21pt score In the third group Aubrey came in first with 20pts. All scores now go forward to next Wednesdays Game.
