Forgot how good this game is

Well haven't played PG in a long time as I have been playing that other game and enjoying it but saw the PGLS Tour was starting again and figured why not try to play one event at least with PG each week. So I started cooking around with some practice and played first rd of PGA 9 and hacked my way to a 39 using my controller and really enjoyable. It reminded me of how much better the ground physics are with PG and how much fun the game was to play. It kills me tho as if it had the atmosphere with crowds and commentary like the other game it would have been the kill all game but again gameplay wise it still is king. So I will play the Tour starting in January and yes I still will play the other in all my leagues over there and get the best of both worlds. It's good to have choices and good choices they both are.

Great to hear that. Ground physics are indeed the reason I stick to PG despite being nudged many times to make a switch to that other game. Reminds me to express my gratitude for all the great work at PGLS to make tourneys enjoyable. Happy X-mas times and best wishes for a better 2021.

Have read many comments, over at PP, about 2K21. Think it was very thoughtful of Greensboronclion to take the time to write his comments above. There is room for more then one golf game but, for me, this is the only one.

got to agree with riddler here but it is nice to see someone come back and enjoy this game.
I played TGC2019 for a few months before 2k21 came out it was ok but for the realism, this is the game to play.
to each their own but I will be a loyal PGLS/JNPG till it is gone. I may try 2k21 sometime maybe if it ever gets down to around 20 bucks but I would never pay more than that for the game.

I like them both in different ways and there is no denying the ground physics of PG are just way better than PGA 2K21. How for atmosphere there is no doubt 2K21 is way better and at the higher levels of Master it's a fair challenge. I used to play nothing but PG and nothing else but now play Madden 21 on the PC and Super Mega Baseball 3 and a few others so I don't get bored with anything. I will back down tho that if PG had went the whole way and gave us a career, customization of avatar, crowds and all these bells and whistles they could have asked us to pay $199 and we would have paid it as just for the gameplay. When 2K21 goes on sale at that 20 to 30 bucks it would be a great buy and most would enjoy a change. I play the TGCC Beer league and another society over there and adding the PGLS Tour and a nine hole event over here with my other games gives me a nice balance and never lose interest in any.

Steam had a deal on PGA Tour 2k21 with all the bells and whistles for $30ish USD. I downloaded it, played it for 25 minutes---------then requested a refund. OH BOY!!! Do I hate moving a mouse and pressing keyboard keys to setup a shot. I like it simple.....grab my mouse, aim and click. Badaboom-badabing - 3clcking is a beautiful thing!

Argh....... never will I play with a controller or mouse motion. Yuk, poo, hurl!

Those of you who enjoy it, good for you. But my favorite three games (for as long as they last) are Links 2003, Tiger Woods 2008 PC and of course Perfect Golf.

Did 2k21 play well and look nice? It was good looking - but for a 3clicker all the touchie feely crap you have to do to setup a shot takes waaaaay to long for a mouser. PGA 2k21 IMHO is a Console Game. Only meant for PC if you use a ..cough, cough controller. Bleck!

That's my vent for the year about a new golf game.

Oh gawd I still have the verp taste in my mouth after trying 2K21 PGA. LOL

Despite the flaws this to me is still the greatest golf game in existance. PGLS is still the best community site. The variety of games available to play is the best. As long as PG is around I will keep playing it.

yea I won't even buy that other game for the 20 bucks it is costing this weekend.
here is a funny one I saw the other day in the lobby window Ol Hayhap was trying to get people out of the lobby of this game to come over and play
2k21 with him. what a hoot this guy got the douche bag of the day award for that one.

Well I paid $20 to play the new golf game with something different and with new courses coming out. Is it as bad as I thought it would be, no, but it is so far behind PG that it is laughable. PG has the most realistic ball flight and ground physics of any sim and the realism of the courses is not even close. I could care less about the ability to customize my ani or crowds or commentary. I want a true golf sim and PG is it. However, I will keep it and play it because it is nice to have options and other alternatives but, PG is so much easier play esp with multiple choices for a golf swing.

Steam refunded my purchase about 2 hours after I requested it. That validates Steam's managing of "our monies".

They get a kudos for that finacial expediency.
