I can understand the reasons why alot play PG Solo, there is convenience of playing when you like and at your own speed. Presure of work and family life limits the time available to play.
But others (including myself) would rather play with other human plays iether in a team or just accompanying a friend. It helps me if I have to wait whilst others take thier shot to plan your next move or to see how others deal with a situation. Some use discord in there game it saves on typing by being able to speak.
For those who are new to PGLS or have never tried social games here are three ways you can start:-
Sunday Knock out competition. a few of us meet in M&G every sunday at 7pm UK time. You can sign up to play anytime in the day by going into Meet & Greet hand you will see the sign up in green writing top right of page..once you have signed up just meet in M&G sometime before the start of play and check in (same place as sign up. At 7pm the automatic draw will take place and you will get a message to say who you are playing in your first round of 9 holes. (if its your first time your opponant will help you join the game). Its a great way to meet other members.
Mid Week Challenge...is a game anyone can join...We meet in M&G at around 7.30 set your status to let all players know you want to play Mid Week Challenge and someone will invite you to a game... Each player plays 9 holes in a group of 2-4 players. You can play on a casual basis as a one off but also we play weekly to find who at the end of the month is top scorer who is put into an end of season Final to find the Player of the year..its great fun, we play stableford points off back tees to encourage high scores, if you have never played join us on Wednesday at 7.30 UK time.
Thursday is the Pairs game, you will need a partner for this but if you already have one then come and join us in M&G at 7.30 UK time
Hope to meet some of you there... All welcome no matter at what stage you are in the game.

Re: Social Play
you are very right about the social play it is the best part of the game.
I am in a 4som that plays every morning. it is the best round of the day for me.
the main thing about social play is to use some kind of voice chat to get to know the folks you are playing with. you might be surprised at how much you have in common with the people you are playing with.
the type chat just doesn't get it you really can't get to know people that way.
the Caddyshack has Teamspeak people can use for free just join up. the PGLS has discord chat and also the steam chat
which is the one we use in the mornings works great.
this is the best way to spend time having fun while playing. good post Paul.
