RGG was designed for ladder matches only.

You can still randomly create say a PGLS 9 in RGG then 'Edit' it in CAG and change it to a 'Solo 9'.

I've been unable to make this work because my username doesn't appear in the player selection (I set PGLS 9 to 'yes' in my PGLS Participation a while back).

You won't do. Select a player from the list then click STOP!

However you can create a Solo 9 by clicking on "Create a new game", picking a course then under "Game type :" select "Solo 9".

Here's what I did:
Go to Random Game Generator
Select PGLS 9
Select anyone at random as Player 1 (I can't select myself since I'm not listed in the dropdown)
Click STOP
In the CreateAGame list, find the game just created and click the edit icon
Change the Game type to Solo 9 (when I do this, Holes Played changes to Full 18 and the other two options become grayed out)
If desired, change any other options
Click update
In the CreateAGame list, click the Make Active button
After starting the game on my computer, the game is available in my Tournament list and I can play the round solo, but it shows playing all holes.

So it works, sort of, but it only lets me play all 18. In addition, it gives me pin position 0 on all holes; if I want a mix of others I have to do it manually while editing the game.

Also noted that if I use CreateAGame directly (choosing the course myself) I can select Front 9, Back 9 or Full 18 while the game type is PGLS 9, but once I change it to Solo 9, it behaves as described above. Even if I change game type back to PGLS 9, Full 18 remains selected with the other two options grayed out. Here also, pin positions 0 were all selected. If there's a way to randomize these I couldn't find it.

All sorted and I've made some changes to the way the Pin Positions are shown to make it clearer.

It's not working properly. You can't create 18 holes with PGLS9. You can create the front 9 accurately with either PGLS9 or Solo9, but when you create the back 9 with either of these, all the pins show 0 no matter which ones you have chosen. And if you edit try to edit them, that doesn't work either, they still all show 0.

I've now added a 'Solo 18' option.

Solo18 doesn't show up in the list of tournament games. Solo9 shows up for either front or back.
