3DG = 3DGrass. Each blade of grass is show which make the rough look thicker and more realist, on the downside the use of the 3D grass uses more memory and could caurse players with less up to date equipment to suffer, so where possible I would choose the plain course when setting a course to give everyone the same opportunity for a smooth game. Designers are including more High Tech items in thier designs and its inevitable that some enventually will suffer it thy dont update thier equipment and thats is not just with PG game
