Pairs Matchplay League

Taking inspiration from John's (JMK59) Dell Matchplay work and my own wanting to add a bit to our rounds, I have come up with a little something.

Each Divisions Pair round will also double up as a Matchplay fixture. I have taken January to March 2021 to get some kind of seeding based on total points gained and sort out starting positions.

2 Divisions of 10, with promotion and relegation (3 up and down to keep it fluid) with any one else joining making a pool below. 9 fixtures, so each season is done and dusted over 2 Calendar months using Periods 1-5 of month 1 and 1-4 of month 2.

Usual matchplay rules and if All Square after 9 holes, the match is a draw.

5pts for a victory, 3 for a draw and 1 for a loss. 0 for a no show.

At time of writing this, 4 pairs have already played, but I have not looked at scorecards and fixtures will be generated randomly.

Final point - REMEMBER EACH PERIOD IS NOW 4 DAYS, NOT 5!!!!

Better mention, if people are tied after the 9 games, the head to head match will be the first tie breaker.

If that was a draw, then the total number of Divisions points scored over the 9 rounds will be used.

If that is tied, then, total eagles then birdies over the 9 rounds.

If teams have posted less than 4 scores over the 9 weeks, I shall remove them.

Think the next season will be 1 bigger league and just take longer to complete.
