Having serious trouble in reading greens with putts left to right and right to left.
Would be grateful for any help, suggestions or advice please.
Pretty sure I'm not alone with this problem.

Re: Putting
I only ever use the BLI.....i never use the grid.....pace is very important, I aim to go about 10-15 ft past the hole, if i miss.....putting that much pace on reduces the break...the harder you hit the straighter it goes.....on longer putts i tend to ignore early break and focus on the mid point and mostly the break at the hole, this is where it turns the most.....im a 3 clicker and i also use what i call opposite snap to hold the line, eg if i have a left to right 15footer i pick my line then the power and be a fraction early on the snap, this i feel tends to lesson the break and with the extra pace i mention earlier produces a straighter putt.....Trail and error is the key....learn from your mistakes and adjust for next time......Good luck....

Re: Putting
Thanks NIBNOB, understand, very well explained. However, what is BLI I use the grid and have tried various sizes to try and read the putt better but have no sensible consistency. I use the 3 click method and the snap I have discovered so I understand what you are saying. So let's try the BLI if you can tell me what and where it is please. Really appreciate help from a top player, thankyou, Rustyred.

Re: Putting
BLI mean break line indicator ..... its the little white line you get at the bottom of the flagstick when putting hold left click on mouse and move cursor from ball to hole....this line give you the direction of the slope... the longer the line the steeper the slope.....the grid method lies , dont use it....
good luck...

Re: Putting
Thanks once again NIBNOB my 3 click is a controller not a mouse I may have problems but taken on board about the grid. Cheers.

Re: Putting
Thanks for the tip on this - I agree that while the grid line is some help it's not very reliable at timesNIBNOB wrote: Sat Aug 14, 2021 1:17 pm BLI mean break line indicator ..... its the little white line you get at the bottom of the flagstick when putting hold left click on mouse and move cursor from ball to hole....this line give you the direction of the slope... the longer the line the steeper the slope.....the grid method lies , dont use it....

Re: Putting
I would also like to thank Mark (Nibnob) for his putting tips. Putting as always been the weakest part of my game but what he as written makes a lot of sense. One of the reasons I believe in playing alongside iether against of as a team is the best way of improving your game. The Forthcoming Ryder Cup on PGLS is a prime example to study the top players and what makes them so consistent.
