Re: Penalty stroke
There is no way to tell the difference Carl.
It shows up as a mid air quit for us which automatically flags a penalty stroke.

Re: Penalty stroke
Carl,
We understand that computers freeze from time to time, but we have no way to tell the difference between that, and someone coming to us claiming that this or that happened.
We do not apply the penalty, the tournament system does. We do not assess the penalty in any way because we must seek to apply the penalty evenly or be accused of not being even-handed.
The only way we could see the particular event happening is to have a video of your play.
If there are frequent issues with computer freezes, it would be best to ask in the forums if others are suffering the same and get a fix for it, and if not and your other work with the computer is similarly affected, to seek the help of a IT professional to identify what could be a serious issue.

Re: Penalty stroke
It is frustrating when you have been awarded a penalty stroke for something u had no control of. But is even more frustrating to discover that some players are quitting the game to safeguard there score and when you hear of players doing this multipul times during a round then players rightly want to see action brought in to stop this happening. I can not understand why some players cheat, they make no economic gain and the only person who is cheated is themselves. But as a player I'd rather see a system set up that is guaranteed to punish the cheat even if on accassion a player might pick up a penalty undeserved . So Thanks to admin for introducing a system that will reduce cheating in the game.
Re: Penalty stroke
I am getting penalty strokes AND having to play the hole twice adding score. If I hit the X button anytime that is not pre-shot. Game bug, not system problem at all. It is controller issue and it makes competing very difficult. I do not like the idea of assuming everyone is lying.

Re: Penalty stroke
If the game is closed mid-air or before you close out the post shot window it is deemed a "quit".
You can safely close the game if needed while the ball is at rest and not receive a penalty. Can you provide screenshots regarding the issue f1partisian.

Re: Penalty stroke
We don't assume everyone is lying. What we make clear is that, just as in real golf, you are responsible for your own equipment. If it lets you down and costs you strokes, then you need to address that.
You have a problem hitting the X button.... then don't hit the X button. I have played with you and many others online and have seen no such issue when playing head-to-head. If the button serves no other function other than costing you a stroke AND making you replay. which would seem to be an EXIT button being pressed incorrectly, then perhaps it is time to give up the controller until it is fixed.
