One Ladder and now New Create a game, But please let there be no segragation

The creation of one ladder for all levels was the right move and now with the new createAgame set-up we can all enjoy ladders without any complicated in game set up and no need to log results afterwards. This break through is a great achievement for Mark and is team. But there is the possibilty of a dark cloud looming.

Some Pro players are saying that they will only play ladder games with players of there own level. Stating that some Am players have an advantage over pros which make it a disadvantage. Surely if this is the case then their action should be to speak to Admin about making these players Pro and not withdrawing games from all AM players.

This could have a very negatitive affect on the ladder. If a group of pros refuse to play AM then they could control the ladder and not allow players to take there place.

There are only 3 players at Hacker level at present, what would happen to them if all AM players refused to play them.

If Pro players refuse to play pro they should have points taken from them. Our wonderful ladder system should not be allowed to be spoilt by these players. Let us see an end to this please.

Some new innovations are under consideration at present to address the issues from both sides of the argument.

The concept of the two multi-ability ladders for stroke and match relies on players of all levels accepting the challenge to play others who may be using a lower ability level. We have control of the player levels and so we try to recognise the potential a lower ability player has to hold an unfair advantage over a competent player who plays at a higher level.

We are moving to monthly calculation of assigned levels, taking place at end-of-event in the final week of the month.

Other additional refinements are presently in the conceptual planning stage, and we shall inform the membership of those when discussion and implementation is complete.

I've asked in very very proper ways a few times for a ladder game from the players that are above me on both ladders I play in and none will play me!
I am playing Amateur at my age and I'm not even that good at that level to where a pro or tour pro would even have to be worried in losing to me lol
I thought i would give PGLS a try again over ogt due to the fact the group of players were nicer but seems some of them have ego's in playing down from their level of play. So in the end I feel I don't belong to play in this current segregation for ladder play. Thanks for letting me blow off steam DEWMAN

I consider myself as a player with mixed ability. That means I can Pull off some very good shots and even string together holes that look above my amatuir level of play, but at the same time I can play well below my level, in other words I'm very inconsistant which is why my scores put me in the amatuir bracket. I play Perfect Golf because I'm competitive and enjoy winning, I enjoy best playing against a human player, I'm not one that enjoys playing solo alot. I want to play against all level of players. I also believe that playing with a better player than myself will make me a better player. I dont want to have to play just against someone who is a my lvl Amatuir. But there are those that argue that Amatuirs have an advantage and so try not to play them. This attitude is wrong it limits players to playing a small group of players all the while. If a player feels that there are players that are better than Amatuir lvl they are at then they should raise this with Admin and not penalyse every amatuir. The admin here are working very hard to place players in there respective lvl of play which will in time make the game a level playing field. In the mean time they must ensure that no player is being penalised by another player, and there should be a way to stop players from only playing players from there lvl. I say to these players, if you feel threatened by players in a lower level than yourself you must ask the question am I in the wrong lvl myself and to those that protect there status on the ladder, you are wrong and you are doing arm to the game because you are driving players away from the site.
