I guess I have been mistaken all along about this tourney
I thought this was always going to be put on real courses.
and not on these fake courses that come out of the dark recesses
of some goofballs head. well I am now done with tourney too bad
some of these silly courses even get used in tourneys it is not like we don't have in excess
of 500 courses and maybe 350 of those are top-flight courses just really kind of sad kinda like seeing courses being used this week that were just used in the last few weeks. just sad.

Handicaps can be both positive (where the player is given shots by the course, based on difficulty) or negative (where the player gives shots to the course, based on ease of being able to achieve a good score on a particular hole). Handicaps work where the Stroke Index given to each golf hole rates the difficulty of play, ranking 1 to 18.
Scoring relative to par with the handicaps all takes place within the game itself, and our leaderboards will show your handicapped score, along with the handicap you played the event with. This handicap is fixed during the event, regardless of your other play in PGLS events, so you can be sure that what you began with is what you will play throughout the event.

Re: this tourney
#2 from an old post.
the real course count is 304 should not be an issue
to go around the phony courses.

Welcome to PG Classics
The PG Classics tour is unique in 3 ways ...
1. The first tour to use individual Handicaps. We hope that the use of Handicaps will bring players scores closer together.
2. PG Classics will only use classic real courses. Courses such as Pebble Beach, Royal St Georges, Spyglass Hill and St Andrews Old Course
3. PG Classics will also use P2P (Pay to Play) courses, a first but not the last for PGLS.
At the end of each fortnight period the top highest scorers will receive either Gold, Silver or Bronce awards and at the end of the season all medal winners will enter a Championship Final.
In this section of the forum I will be running features including news items, game reports as well as keeping you informed on top scores.
We hope you enjoy your games in PG Classics and wish all competitors the best of luck.

Re: this tourney
If you look at the original post by MIMIC "Announcing PG Classics - a new dimension in PGLS play" it does say using free user created content. I went through courses used and looks like only a few out of many were not real, Devil's Island twice first being end of 2018 and Aloe Ridge Feb 2021. So four out of 98 not a bad batting average.

Re: this tourney
Contrary to Seasider's statement " PG Classics will only use classic real courses. Courses such as Pebble Beach, Royal St Georges, Spyglass Hill and St Andrews Old Course", this week's course is a fake one.
I've had it with these fictional courses. I won't play them anymore. So for this week, no PGA9 and no Stableford.

Re: this tourney
I still dont see any probs with occasional user created courses being used.
So far user courses have not been over the top fantasy types, so keep up the good work Paul.
As we know ,we cant please everyone with courses and settings.

Re: this tourney
Hi All
I did set up this tour with the intention of only using Real Courses. Normally I do check, but as I have hard a very stressful week after my phone was cut off due to BT moving over to a new Wifi system and then forgetting to send the equipment I needed to change (I relly on my phone to contact a well being team in an emergency) having spent most of the day chasing up getting the correct equipment I was somewhat late in setting tour.
Instead of doing my usual checks I inputted the Crows Nest course into the internet for the local weather forecast, there are two Crows nest courses listed so chose what I thought was the correct one and took the conditions and set the pins and completing all by just after 10 pm.
So my appologies, it very rarely happens I think if you check we have used some really fine real courses over the last 5 years I've neen setting them.
Regarding Devils Island I started using this over the Christmas period 2 years ago, Its not meant to be a serious game its a party game and I regard it has fun and will continue. Dave I hope you ignore this mistake by myself and continue to play the tour and that goes for everyone else.
