skills

Post by davefv92c »

this week's skills course was tested and deemed to not be a good course to be used
after all the work I have done in the past testing these courses with challenge tees I find it hard to believe
the POS is being used. just has too many unmakeable stupid shots to even waste the time with.
I just find this so hard to believe after all the time I spent going through all these courses to find the playable ones.
tourneys like this do nothing but piss people off and help the tourney count go down, but I guess that is not important
any longer. whoever is now setting these ought to check out all M roses courses as this clown did not even understand what the goal was for challenge tees. just a shame out of the 27 courses matt put out maybe 10 with challenge tees there are maybe 2 or 3 that should be used in this tourney and they are listed. the others would be good to be used in the trifecta but if they are not listed in the list above they should just be left alone for this tourney. sorry if ya don't like what I have to say here but I believe the count this week will be very low and I thought all along the point here was to get more people to play not cater to the 10% of the good players willing to waste their time with this crap.

Dave,

There is nothing in the course notes to say not to use this course for CTP (Skillz), which you should of done at the time.

Having just played the first round with Dunc and Paul I can confirm it is certainly a tough set of challenge tees but it is the same for all players who play it.

it is not on the list, and you know how old that crap gets oh everyone plays the same that is right just not many will be playing that crap
so your answer here is useless. I will now be removing my list of my work let someone else start over. feels like I just wasted my time for that 2 years or so I spent my time tested these courses so be it.

Mark if you don't want me here then just remove me this is not the only game on steam.
you guys all used to be a pretty good group of folks but it has sure changed over the last year or so.
the number shows I am not the only one who feels this way remember back in a day when there was better than 300 playing the tourneys to todays
little 100 and something that plays them now which you would not have except for my idea of making people members to get courses. this has so much to do with why people have left and went on to TCG I guess you folks could just not see why people were leaving.

Skillz (CTP) is a fun tourney which is what us 3 had ... fun. We don't care what we score.

It is your choice if you play at PGLS. As far as I know no-one has said they don't want you here either.

Each week Dunc Mark and myself play skills, its fun. Most week dunc chooses a course hes been trying some courses that have not been used this year so far. after the last round we test any long hole in next weeks course to see if it can be reached .

We didnt get the chance to do that this week due to Time restrictions. On Tuesday Dunc had to drive from his home in Scotland to collect his daughter, he got back late and he was able to set the course ready fo9r next day. We were as dissappointed with the course as most , but there were no course notes. So we understand Duncs problem.

Its a game that does get interupted by life and most people understand, I feel amazed that Dunc has been treated this way , he does a lot for the game and no ones perfect, mistakes happen

yea the worse thing I saw when testing this course the first time
was the penalty on some of the shots was way too high and to make some of the shots was only luck, not skill if you did make them
also when I was testing courses and saw shots that basically had to go through trees to make was just plain another lucky shot and not much skill to it that was why it did not make the list of courses to be used that I worked on for a few years.
I guess what bothered me the most was the amount of my time I spent testing these for people to not take my testing seriously and just blowing right by what I had decided to do, think about it, it took a bunch of my time going through all the courses to find the playable ones I spent a couple of years doing this and trying to keep a regular tourney time to enjoy myself. that all does not really matter any longer as I have removed the list. I am sure Mark can repost it as he can find it in the deleted posts which I can no longer get to. so Mark if you want to revive that post please do.

I kinda have to Agree with Dave on this the last couple of weeks of skills have had more than a few holes which are next to impossible to make the green no matter what club you used .When you put up courses that do nothing but aggravate the hell out of players they lose interest one other note can we stop playing Crows nest every week its a great course but its getting old

I think Dunc, the Skillz (CTP) setter will hold his hand up for this one. So much so we stopped playing it this week after round 2.

Myself, Dunc and Paul have checked out the next course and although it's been marked as unplayable for full tournies the Challenge tees are fine and in our opinion way different to the last couple of weeks. :good:
