Hi , got some strange issues with distances.
Started today . Using rtsm swing type.
A perfect drive has a carry about 180 meters or so (0,25 ratio 100% and 1 in to out ) ? Tried it several times on the range and with the same result .
Other clubs does the same thing . It's almost unplayable atm . Sometimes it flyes the right distance though but i never know when .
Does anyone know what's wrong ?
Reinstalled the game and also switched mouse and no luck there either.
thx
Toni

Re: Whats happening with my distances ?
Your total swing time may exceed the time limit. There is a distance penalty if you take too much time to complete the entire swing (both the backswing and downswing). I think it is around 4 seconds for motion swing at Pro level; maybe a second less at Tour Pro level.
The other possibility is off-center hits. If you hit too far from the center on the heel or toe, you will lose some distance. But, with me, it is usually swinging too slow. Once I speed it up a bit, the problem goes away.

Hej landsman,
Like Charlie said, not easy to figure out what you do wrong as there are more factors involved with RTS swing than with 3click. Happens to all of us RTS mouse swingers. To me it happens suprisingly more often when I had a beer too much or getting tired, so it might be because I swing too slow. I have played RTS for four years and it happened more frequently in the beginning than it does now, so I dont think it is a game error.
I think of it as a duffer, which I tend to have a couple of times every round in real life.

Re: Whats happening with my distances ?
Yes most likely as above good shots require good tempo first and heel toe plane , its a beast but we love itJoeMen wrote: Sat Feb 19, 2022 9:49 pm Hej landsman,

Re: Whats happening with my distances ?
Toni it is not a game or mouse issue. In RTSM you can get mishits because of the movement of your mouse. When I first started using RTSM I had these mishits or offsets. When executing your downswing, make sure it is moved to and through the spot where you started your backswing. If you miss the spot or are not moving the mouse forward through that spot you can get an offset and lose as much as 25% off your carry distance. That's why it is called an offset. Go to the driving range and intentionally miss that spot in your downswing and you will see what I mean. It replicates what happens in real golf when your club face is not square at impact. Just another aspect of RTSM that makes it the most difficult swing option by far.

Re: Whats happening with my distances ?
Thx for great replies Charlie , Joemen, Maxie and Slouis !
Yes i think it's both a bit too slow tempo at times and the path. Didn't know it was that sensitive .
Iv'e tweaked the mouse settings both in game and in win 10 and it feels much better now.
It's a beast yes but so rewarding when you play good :)
