PGA 18 tees

Post by mwalimu »

I'm starting this discussion because I think it's something that merits discussion even though I don't have a particularly strong opinion on it.

The current and the three previous rounds of PGA 18 have made use of the Member/Forward/Ladies tees. Prior to that, PGA 18 rounds have mostly been from the Championship tees, with an occasional round from different tees. What do you all think of this? Do you like the more forward tees, or would you rather return to using the back ones, or mix it up (perhaps even within the same week)?

Chuck Norris can get an albatross on a par 3.

I am the one who sets the conditions for this tour. I checked with Mark and got his ok to use different T’s on this tour plus stableford. My reasoning was we had been using championship and tournament T’s for so long, to me, it was getting boring. Mixing up the T’s almost is like playing some of these courses for the first time. Also the challenge is different and how you play the courses is different with the different T’s. Appreciate you brought this subject up and I hope we get some comments.

I don't mind the mixed tees, but can we at least get one round from the tips?

I think it makes the playing more interesting, it changes the courses completely. When playing multiplayer rounds I usually set Tournament tees as we dont drive as far as the real life pros do nowadays, especially on long courses.

Very good idea, Alan. As you said, it makes viewing the course from different tee boxes like it's a new course. :good:
