I myself don't think there is any cheating going on, I believe it is all just in how much time you spend playing
the game that makes some better than others. however, I do have a theory on the size of the monitor used. for 3 clickers
the larger the monitor the larger, the meter is huge larger monitor = huge meter also gives you a bigger striking line for one thing
I also believe the bigger the meter the slower the meter runs even if it is just by a fraction. I have never played this game on my 65" Tv
so I am not sure about this. but back during Tiger Woods Online. I had 2 65" TVs set up side by side one for golf and the other to watch Tv while I was playing. I tested that theory then and it worked that way. and from past posts, I think nib said he played on a 55/65" Tv I have always thought he was winning a lot due to that, other than he is a good player. in the early years of this game I played quite a bit of ALT with Mark and to be honest he is one hell of a player but he makes as many mistakes as the rest of us due but the fella's recovery play is about the best I have seen on this game. I have always thought this, but never posted about it cause I just did not want to invite others to start using their TVs for monitors. maybe PGLS Mark or one of you other techy fella's could test out my theory. as for cheating as a mod, it just can't happen as I have been a mod here quite a bit and I just don't see any way it could be done just cause someone is a mod. as for tbone he is a hell of a player and I have been on the same golf games with him for a lot of years and he has always been a top player.

no cheating going on here

How does someone get evidence?
You would need to be in the same room to see them play.
Has anyone seen the top players play in person?
Even the top players must play a few bad rounds.

Well thx Dave....its true i used to play this from my sofa 3 meters away from my 42" LG....but for the last 2 years still on the sofa but half a meter away from my 17" predator laptop (with x2.5 specs)......i find it easier to play with the laptop....plugged in mouse helps alot.....used to get alot of sliders with wireless mouse 3m away........i think whatever setup you have you just get used to that over time......

The thrill might be gone for the solo round tournaments (Tour, PGA9 & 18, ect), but for me the 2v2 team alt shot and scramble formats are a blast.

There are two here at PGLS - Pair9 & Division Pairs. Even better are the side gigs that some of the top teams put invites out for.

Grab a partner and play one of the "top" teams. You'll see that they have the same flaws in their game as you & I - they just happen less frequently.

Anyway....make your own enjoyment out of the game. :drinks:

This is by far the best golf game and set of tournaments around at the moment.

I'm not a great player but enjoy the variety of tournaments and the game itself.

Sure the game is not perfect, but the organizers do a great job, so just enjoy it for what it is.

And have a great day

I don't post a lot in these things and it's for a reason, but about every 2 or 3 months it seems there is always someone accusing another player or players of cheating. I can't tell if anyone is or isn't. I can tell you that there are some kick ass players in this group and that keeps the competition at a high level. Since joining PGLS I have been amazed at the level of play. I use to think I was pretty good until I started playing here lol. I just think it's a very toxic thing to have these accusations in this forum. I don't see anyone coming with any proof at all, just a he said she said, and this is of no benefit to the group as a whole. If you are scoreboard watching instead of playing, you are not having fun. Play the course and the conditions, grind every shot, enjoy the round, and see where you end up. In the end it doesn't matter, no one is getting paid here we are all here to have fun. There are many different types of tourneys available for play, not just the Tour. The team events are the best, WHEN YOUR PARTNER IS AROUND, hint, hint, poke, poke fubzee, lol. I just really try to make sure I can be there for the Ryder Cup and President's Cup, to me, that's the most fun in the game. I guess what I am trying to say is just relax, play, have fun, and please quit accusing others of cheating.

Thanks,
Jude

Anybody remember the name Roy Higgi or Paul Whiley. Two of the best links players ever. Roy is still playing at LSPN and always winning. Paul was handicapped and in a wheel chair and still won all the tournaments. These two never cheated, they just loved the game and became experts at playing. It's like any video game. Some are so much better then others even if they have played the game the same number of hours. Hitting the snap is not the only criteria for winning. Where to stop the snap is always a test as is the slope of the greens and hardest is the putting but there are also many other aspects of this game. I just love to play and enjoy getting in the top ten. This week I am actually leading Stableford as a Tour Pro and I have not been playing Stableford well for weeks but I kept trying and not just to win but the satisfaction that I can do better. Like Jude said relax and just enjoy and have fun.

Becoming a moderator is not why someone becomes a better player. Being friends with the people who are privy to certain knowledge, and that knowledge is shared with another player, now that's a whole different story.

I guess those of you who wanted to attack "me" based on the OP's comments really didn't read my words carefully. Did I accuse someone of using a cheat method? No I did not. I said "shared knowledge" of how to play better.

Thank you all for keeping the conversations civil.

What shared knowledge would you like to have. I might have some.

I'm a ballistics engineer, so I can tell you if the physics in the game measure up. 75% of the time they do, but that other 25% can drive you crazy.
