I'm a ballistics engineer, so I can tell you if the physics in the game measure up. 75% of the time they do, but that other 25% can drive you crazy.

What is it that you seek grasshopper?
Really John? Grasshopper? :cheesy:

That comment surprised me as much as Dunc's surprised reaction to my post.

I was trying to keep it fun Lee. Sorry if you didn't take it that way.

You up for some match play?

And I think the thread has brought up some good topics.
1. there is some hidden knowledge about the wind physics & tree colliders that some don't know. Just ask.
2. backspin physics is wrong ( mostly) due to lack of data available to Andrew Jones at the time of coding.
3. the "off the tee" physics i.e. ball-club collision physics is all wrong. What's in the game is nothing more than a launch cannon.

I would like to say that some of the conditions being set are somewhat ridiculous and for the average player to be competitive is very challenging that being said if they set easy conditions every tourney I dont believe it would change the outcome and as far as cheating going on I dont think so but there are aim assist you can buy on amazon that work with controllers but most players use 3 click, rts or ms I would think the more you play the better you get at this game

Hey boxmaker111, you are a very good player so I am surprised that you would bitch about the conditions - we all have to play under same and challenging setups are stimulating, not unfair, unless you want to do -15 every round, which I do not - a round of -2 is, to me, a sign of a great setup on a challenging course - these guys do a great job!!

Trust me, John is amazing. If a fly farts in a 47 degree angle in Albuquerque with a velocity of 289 mph and aiming north. He can calculate the impact in Denver :)

SJude wrote: Mon Mar 28, 2022 10:42 pm I don't post a lot in these things and it's for a reason, but about every 2 or 3 months it seems there is always someone accusing another player or players of cheating. I can't tell if anyone is or isn't. I can tell you that there are some kick ass players in this group and that keeps the competition at a high level. Since joining PGLS I have been amazed at the level of play. I use to think I was pretty good until I started playing here lol. I just think it's a very toxic thing to have these accusations in this forum. I don't see anyone coming with any proof at all, just a he said she said, and this is of no benefit to the group as a whole. If you are scoreboard watching instead of playing, you are not having fun. Play the course and the conditions, grind every shot, enjoy the round, and see where you end up. In the end it doesn't matter, no one is getting paid here we are all here to have fun. There are many different types of tourneys available for play, not just the Tour. The team events are the best, WHEN YOUR PARTNER IS AROUND, hint, hint, poke, poke fubzee, lol. I just really try to make sure I can be there for the Ryder Cup and President's Cup, to me, that's the most fun in the game. I guess what I am trying to say is just relax, play, have fun, and please quit accusing others of cheating.

Thanks,
Jude
Accusations of cheating were a huge thing in Links 2003. I started off using the RTS-swing.....(drag the mouse back, and then forward). Which was tbh abit harder than 3-click but at the time felt more fun and natural.......

But as always, when you won a game there were ppl suggesting you used a ruler or similar to move the mouse
