Editor and Game color so different

Post by ledsvik »

I'm having serious problems and I can't find the reason why the editor color is dark, and the game window (and when running the course in PG) is so light. Everything is so washed out. :hmmm:

I have tried to:

- Created a new course and then checked game window and it looked good.
- Compared the values and colors for "Lightning" and they were the same.
- Switched skyboxes and same problem persists.
- Then I loaded a terrain backup from the course I'm building into the newly created course and the colors went washed out as on the picture.

I'm running out of ideas.....

Is there some other global setting causing this?

I can't even continue til this is fixed

I know nothing about Course Forge but have worked with many customers over the years fixing the (washed out look on the screen). Usually it's due to the brightness or contrast settings in the monitor. The second most common reason is the graphics card's driver. However, there also can be a change to the monitor's driver as well. Check the games brightness and contrast too, make a screen shot of it and post it for us to see.

Try these two suggestions one at a time.
1. Install latest video card driver
2. Install the mfg's monitor driver

These are easy fixes in the scheme of things. What I hope you don't have to do is replace your video card or monitor due to component failure.

Ty for the reply....

I spent about 16 hours trying and editing the post on gamedev.stackexchange.com... all screens of my settings here and there..... what I tried...... and the replies were like "you shouldn't say like Edit X 12 times, the system takes care of that".....

so I deleted everything.....but ye...

I'll just go designing a course...... and figure out the lightning shit that needs to be alot darker when making course playable... 16h down the waste

Graphic settings vary for all of us. I am not suggesting that people use my settings, but after tweaking things over the first couple of weeks of owning my Acer Monitor (Acer Nitro KG272: HD 1920x1080 144MHz 27") I customized it's viewing, brightness and contrast set to 50%. Monitor brightness at the standard 80-100% is just too bright for my eyes.

Perfect Golf: I customized my graphics settings to what you see below.

All graphics settings are dependent upon the Monitor, Graphics Card and CPU.
