Weird Penalty shot

On round one at Le Golf National I holed a putt from off the green but it didn't register and "froze" like sometimes when you go in the water, so I re-booted and annoyingly missed the putt this time, so not only did I get penalised there but got an extra penalty shot!! Not good enough to win anything, not bothered about that but don't like getting ripped off, only try and beat my personal scores think it was a bit unfair to get the extra penalty shot (fair enough there was no evidence I holed the putt). Wondered if anyone else had something similar? I have had a few putts that have disappeared in the hole and popped back out again (can't remember which course that was)

I had a similar experience just recently where I gently dropped a 4 foot putt straight into the hole only to see it pop out again a second or so later.

Not the first time that has happened either.

I too have had putts pop out and not because of too much speed - it is annoying!

can't directly fly a chip, pitch, or sand shot into the cup - will freeze the game.
