Played a game at Castle Pines last night, it's elevation is 6401 feet. What struck me was at that elevation the ball went so much farther, roughly the same distances as current PGA players.
If course elevation is just one field in a course, could designers just add 6000 feet altitude to their courses?
Seems like a very cheap way to give the clubs correct distances and add some extra life to this game. Nothing in game indicates course height so It's not an immersion breaker.
A pity most designers have dissapeared, but If any are still around it would be great if we could get a few height improved courses:)
P.S. What a beautifully constructed course Castle Pines is, thanks Crow357!
Hitting the ball the same distance as real pros, maybe a way...

The formula for altitude is 1.5% per 1000 feet - thus distance correction for 6000 foot altitude is 9% - 100 yards is thus 91 yards
