I must say I enjoy all different stimps and hardness of the ground, stimp 8 is not far from real life courses where I live if it has not been a dry summer. Playing from red tees give a new perspective on courses too.
The only thing I dont like is when british links courses are set up with hard greens and stimp 13, that is far from how they are for real. The greens are never hard even if they look brown but the fairways are always, and stimp is normally 9-11. The faster stimps are the easier pins should be chosen, with their natural ondulations the difficult pins would be unplayable with hard and 13-14 in real life.

I'm with Riddler here, though I and playing mates have occasionally bitched about hard green pins being tucked behind bunkers, the conditions are the same for all - in general, the set ups are well thought out and the movement of tees, for example, in the "fun" tourneys makes the game more enjoyable

Re: Div Pairs game settings
I think the 1 hole that suckered in just about every group was the par 5 6th.
From the ladies T's it was drivable, but you needed to stay away from that "god awful" pin placement. Yes - I did pick that on purpose.
You can 2 putt for eagle, or safer yet 3 putt for birdie.
The chance for albatross, I think, was too tempting for most (myself included). The bunker below the hole was a graveyard filled with potential "snowmen".
Thank you Taipan76 for taking over the job of setups for the Divisions & Division Pairs.
Bring some new ideas, please. I've had my fun; thanks guys.
John

Re: Div Pairs game settings
If anyone wants to replay that hole, I've got a CAG set up that I can send to anyone in my friends list (if I'm still on your friends list
).
