How do you manage your courses?
I am just wondering or looking for ideas on how you manage your courses. With over 500 available, sometimes finding a course in the carousel can be impossible.. quite honestly, its bad. BUT its what we have, so I am wondering how players manage these courses. I have yet to play well over 200 courses and in my spare time, like to play a course that I have not played at least once. I was thinking of maybe just installing perhaps 20 or 30 at a time? I know it takes some copying and pasting, but it seems be a more efficient way of scrolling through the courses.. thoughts?

Re: How do you manage your courses?
One tip for using the carousel. You can press any letter key and it will take you to courses starting with that letter, so you won't have to scroll through the carousel very far to find it. The only gotcha is that they're alphabetized by folder/filename, which sometimes doesn't match the in-game course name (e.g. TPC Scottsdale has a folder/filename of scottsdalev1_3 and thus is between Scioto and Sedgefield). The only letter key that doesn't work is 'Y', since there are currently no courses in the library that start with that letter.

Up to my recent PG headache I had every course on the carousel . Thinking as I uninstalled the lot I may only run a few at a time . I did save the courses to aa hard drive .

You will need to copy the courses back to the PG "Courses" folder.
Remember to close PG before checking they are in the correct place.

Re: How do you manage your courses?
I have all my courses back up on another, empty drive... I've decided to only load a few courses at a time or ones that I will definitely play in the near future. Once I play them, I will remove... wash, rinse and repeat. Literally takes seconds to remove, copy, paste and certainly a more efficient way to find the courses in the carousel. Even though it is still terrible. ha
One additional question.. is there a way to print out all the courses in the database, this way I can check off the ones I have played? I guess I can copy the courses that are up to date in the Course Checker... Thanks!

If you look under the Courses tab above, there is an Excel spread sheet with every course listed.
It shows:
Beta or not
If there are challenge tees
Name of the course in the game
Name of the REAL course if different
Designers name
Location of real course
Some of the recent courses, for the past few years are not included because the guy who made this no longer updates it.
That said, I copied it years ago and keep it up to date, with some of my own modifications. If you'd like a copy, provide an email address and I will send it to you.

Re: How do you manage your courses?
I have been around since PG started so have testplayed everyone when they were released, and I only keep the courses I really like in the folder named Courses. Those ones I could play in friendly rounds anyday and be happy, currently 220.
The rest of the acceptable courses are stored in my folder called Courses Archive and dont show up in the carousel, currently 250.
When I need any of the archived for a PGLS tourney, I move them to Courses, and then move them back to the Archive.
The ones I would not want to play even in tournaments I dont store at all, so if I cant find them anywhere I know they are not for me.
