PGLS Cups - Now it's serious!! :)

Ok folks, Week 40's Cups have been completed with some interesting results:

Tour Pro

Affo (7th seed) wins this week's Cup with a 31-36 victory over Final debutant Lextron (13th seed, well done Sir). 3rd went to Makosha (14th) on her Tour Pro Cup debut where she saw off Sandybunker (9th) by 1 shot 34-35.

Pro

Dazmaniac (12th seed) took his maiden Cup win by means of Giantkiller over Robbiet71 (2nd) who is runner up for the 2nd week on the bounce (34-34). rockerrob79 (11th) took 3rd in his first 3rd place play off again by Giantkiller over sccops100 (9th).

Amateur

growler63 (8th seed) edged past Eagle1803UK (14th) 36-37 both in their 1st Final. Pre event favourite and now in the Pro ranks, BOWHUNTER615 (4th) took 3rd and goes to show that even if you win that Week's level, it doesn't mean you'll win the cup! He saw off rob1312 30-34 who was in his first 3rd place match.

This week's draws are already up with those "promoted" added as extras as bottom seeds to their new level's Cups. Please note Pro players, the Preliminary round AND 1st round use the 1st 9 holes score!

Apologies - Pro Cup had to be reset as I had included 2 chaps who had been promoted to Tour Pro.

Just curious on week 40 Pro. I finished the Pro PGA9 in overall second place (name is ILCivEng) yet I dont see my name or former name (JoeSmith) in any of the cup match results. I appear in week 39 Pro and week 41 Pro but nothing in week 40.

That is correct.

Don't forget, it's a week behind. You didn't finish in the Top 16 of the Pro level in Week 39, therefore didn't qualify for Week 40's Cup.

In week 40, you finished in Top 16, so you appear in Week 41's Cup.

Hope that makes sense, to qualify for the following week's cup, you need to finish in top 16 of this week's cup.

Week 41 Cups:

Tour Pro

The arrival at TP of Domino, a couple of Tour wins and a TP Cup win on his first attempt overcoming DoGgz (3rd Final in 4 weeks) on Giantkiiler rule after a 34-34 draw. Sandybunker gets his 2nd Top 3 finish seeing off robbiet71 for 3rd place.

Pro

After 2 attempts to get past the 1st round Mikhenrik takes the win 36-39 against JoeBradley with Milehigh taking 3rd from maxie 34-38. All 4 players players getting a PB finish!

Amateur

rob1312 managed to see off newcomer SimChars1968 in his 1st Final 34-36 and last week's winner growler63 saw off jpspurs26 35-38 for 3rd place

Draws for Week 42's Cups are now up and the Pro Cup has been expanded to 24 plus ties as there are so many at that Level, with your PGA9 round score counting for Cup rounds 1 and 2.

Just a quick question mate how do you determine who goes through to the next round when the score's are the same

As we can't do replays..the lower seeded player (higher number in brackets) goes through on a "Giantkiller" rule, so the better player needs to beat their opponents score in each match.

Tour Pro:

Sandybunker takes his first TP Cup win with a 29-30 victory over Affo. Altaedm takes 3rd from charlieb by the same margin 30-31.

Pro:

JoeBradley also takes his first Cup with a win over Cup debutant coolhandlooker 32-35. maxie beat RemoBruskie 32-42 for 3rd and best finish to date.

Amateur

Stoney's first venture past the 1st round ends with victory over rob1312 34-No score with migs on their Amateur debut taking 3rd from runner up from past 2 weeks SimChars1968 30-34
