Concede Round Button for Stroke Ladder Rounds

Post by Crusher »

When a player has a terrible hole and simply wants to concede the round, what do other members think of having a "Concede Round" button on the post screenshot for Stroke Ladder rounds?

Not just because of a bad hole but for other reasons as well. Stroke 9 ladder matches 1 on 1 can easily be completed but multi-player rounds, if one person has to leave for urgent reasons (4 players takes a long time) and cannot stick around, do you think it would be a good option to have a "concede button" so they can leave by announcing in chat they have to go and then press the "concede button"?

It's not a cop-out for the player, it's a time factor for some - for others, a terrible hole that takes them out of competition means hanging around for a long time to finish the round.

I post this question to all because this game is going to become more popular soon with many more players coming aboard. It's just something to think about before the masses join PGLS.

Thanks for your input. :drinks:

I'm not sure such a button can be added Lee. :hmmm:

If it is available I've yet to see it.

If it turns out that's not possible. What happen when a person needs to leave a ladder stroke round? How would the opponent or opponents get the win?

You would mutually decide between you that the one being awarded the match would open a Match Dispute, and if the person the dispute is made against contacts an admin, it is cleared immediately.

Details of this procedure were circulated previously and will be re-issued again now.

Even If possible I wouldn't want to see a concede button. When I agree to play a game with another player I am as such (as I see) agreeing to a contract to complete the game whether winning or losing. The reason I join a club is with the knowledge I am going to see a game through till the end. I used to play WGT but I would never play a game in there lobby because it was full of players who would quit as soon as they were losing. Glad to say that doesnt happen except for emergencies in PGLS. There is a system in place for disputes over an uncompleted game and that can be found on the Forum

Paul. You may have all the time in the world to finish a round but other people do not. But more importantly, I think your perspective on this concept is about being a "quitter". We are all above-board when we play ea. other but I have had circumstances where the other player needs to leave the game, I have no problem with that when they tell me in in-game chat first, Steam PM or an email.

We all base our expecations and intuition on past online experiences. In this case, whatever happened in the past with "quitters" would be swiftly taken care of here at PGLS.

As explained in the PGLS rules about people who need to leave a ladder round or disappear from a game without explanation, everthing can easily be taken care through the Ladder round dispute feature.

Call me a purist or whatever, my philosophy as always been if you cant finish a game don't start. I used to play wow and lotro where sometimes you needed a team to complete a difficult task and often these tasks took a considerable amount of time, there was nothing more frustrating than 10 mins into the task someone saying , sorry got to go for tea. why didnt they see that before they joined. Yes there are times you have to leave iether because of work or family crisis, thats acceptable and catered for. Even if I'm having a bad game I like to finish because as often happens I will hit one amazing shot that gives me consolation, like wise I hope I am patient and encouraging to a player who is having a bad time and would hope my encouragement helps him through. I sometimes think I'm too old for this game but its the patience and encouragement by fellow members that as made me see that I am not. Whatever the circumstances, happy hitting lol

Indeed. Life's contingencies do interrupt game play now and then. Everything is copacetic. :good: :drinks:
