Does the person who sets up this tournament understand...
1. Hard/Normal is really hard/hard, so its stupid to put the pin in the back of the green when the object is to get close. It will bounce off the back from hitting even 30 yards in front of the hole, and most greens don't have even that much room. Especially on long irons and woods. I don't give a shit what my score is, I'd just like to hold a green once in awhile.
2. Mixed conditions in this game aren't really mixed. The designer could have it prohibited, or the software won't allow for any real difference.
3. Does it ever rain when its hard/normal, or normal/normal, or normal/soft? Does it ever rain with 13 stimp? Seems like we only have rain with soft/soft and 8-10 stimp.

Re: Normal is not what you think it is
I find the runout on hard greens to be 15-20 yards - I also use "high blue" on hard greens to try to reduce the rollout - rain usually creates softer greens and slower stimp and thus when raining, greens would not be hard or normal nor would they be fast greens - just my observations.

For me, that is the norm on "normal greens" with any iron or wood club above PW. Blows my mind that when hitting from the rough there is notice of "spin loss". Its 100%, almost 100% of the time.

The "norm" for me on normal greens is about 10 yards for irons excluding wedges - and I agree that from the rough, the spin loss is high and hard to judge

Jesus Christ, dude. Why do you still play this tournament? First off, Hard/Normal IS Hard/Normal. The person who sets up this tournament actually puts effort into it. And no, it's not me. Whether or not it rains has nothing to do with how playable the round is. Have you considered that you're not a great player? Look at the scores above yours. They don't seem to be having the same problems.

Did you read my post...dude? I said I don't give a shit about my score. Would just like to hold a green. I play to practice my snap and see how close I can get. I'm 79 years old, I'm not a great player. But that doesn't matter when I hit a perfect snap from the tee to a pin that is at the back of the green on hard/hard conditions, and the ball hits just on the front of it and bounces in to the rough at the back. I know it takes effort to set up the tournament. I just want the person to use some of that effort to not gimmick it up. Those top 20 guys are going to do what they do. I don't care about them.Caincalaway wrote: Fri Jul 11, 2025 5:07 pm Jesus Christ, dude. Why do you still play this tournament? First off, Hard/Normal IS Hard/Normal. About the rain. Of course it has no bearing on game play. It just seems weird that it never rains unless there are soft greens. And you are dead wrong about hard/normal being hard/normal. Sometimes yes. Sometimes the fairway condition is dominate regardless, and sometimes its the green condition.
Now, go unwind your pants, and don't worry about it.

Well, whattashot, you puppy, I'm 80 years old and just a decent player, who has figured out the rollout on hard greens most of the time - using "high blue" on these shots helps that factor - as for the rain, it's a nice addition explaining the soft greens as in real golf! I have also found hard normal conditions to be reasonably consistent in this game and adjust my shots accordingly.
