Known problems with inviting when hosting

Post by Seasider47 »

Hi All

Many problems occurred tonight in our Mid Week Game (26/7/17. players were experiencing floating balls and flags in wrong place. It was discovered later that this was caused due to the course used had at some time received a name change and the old course still lingered in course file along with new course file. The problems could have been alleviated if hosts had not invited players to group, but made them use the join method (click on host in friends list then click on Join Game). I must admit that I knew there were issues with hosts inviting but still went ahead and did it.

Let it be know that in future if I host I will expext players to join my game. Sorry if this causes inconvenience. I suggest we all follow this practice it may cause less problems in the future.

Yes, I usually allow the player hosting to set up and they can send an invite to the game, but I simply ignore that, find them in the PG lobby, and use Join Game. If you are playing PGLS events, the host will always have a check to see he is using the correct course, and by using Join Game, you can take advantage of the same mechanism.
