competition

I would like to know how a player can shoot double figures in all 4 rounds of this Tourney. A total of -51 and the nearest challenger with a modest total of -22 which is imo reasonably achievable but -51 strikes me to be odd, we have heard of cheat modes being available and some players will go to any length to achieve these ridiculous scores and should be sought and removed from pgls as it ruins competion for every one else who play like the sport should be played. We have been through this time and time again at wgtls and look where that has gone, ( to the dogs) Such a shame the minority spoil it for the genuine majority. This goes on not just in 1 tourney but the rest. If a cure cant be found for this ridicule,my suggestion is to put a limit on the most realisticly achievable score so the outrageous scores wont count, take the example I have shown above, something has to be done or this will go the way others have gone before.

I know Andy ( Affo ) is trying his best to do something to even it all out but I have my doubts as someone will find another way around it.
I have written my feelings and I am sure there are many others who feel the same way, lets see where it goes. :pardon:

Just for thought, we have had discussions at our local club in the past about handicaps and how certain players protect them, and we came up with a method that many agreed that the handicap system should be is that any score shot under par would determine that players handicap and would only get point 1 of a stroke back for any strokes shot over par on a permanent basis. So for example: player handicap 18 - Par for course 72 - shoot 85 - that player would play off 13 next time out, shoot over par the next time out after the last one, they would be off handicap 13.1 the time after etc etc. Worth thinking about?

I hear what you are saying, but the person in question will be "promoted" to Tour Pro next week, let's see if they can continue scoring so well (not in every comp at the moment!) at the higher penalty level.

The 3 Click method is a method which bodes well for low scoring if:

A player learns the nuances and how the game plays and the expected bounces in the different conditions.
A player has good hand/eye reflexes or eye/hand in this game to be as near to or on the "ding".

Please bear in mind (someone else has now shot in the -30s too), that the local conditions for this weekend are very calm and with firm fairways in all 4 rounds, the 2nd shots are going to be shorter coupled with 2 of the rounds are not off the furthest back tees. If I was feeling "in form", personally I would hope to get very low if I played that comp.

The new Handicap that I have devised will hopefully keep it fresh and allow others to top leaderboards. If you play better than you normally do compared to your competitors in a competition, you will be at the top of the Handicap tables, but your handicap will reduce.

Also, the person in question using the handicap method is currently 1st, 4th, 9th, 9th and 35th in those respective competitions ad as it stands, hasn't beaten Joe Champion in all the rounds either

I'm not taking offense or anything to what's been written, just explaining a few things from my point of view.
The scores may be unrealistic, or even a joke but heyho, that's what we got.

Play well and enjoy your game everyone! :drinks:

btw, not a game for snowflakes.
