Sorry i need to vent
Just Played round 3 pga 18 at cypress point, -2 on the 4th hole and hit a lovely shot into the pin that on any other course would have left a 4 footer. The pin is cut on a mound and 3 or 4 foot beyond is what looks like a steep false back to the green. My shot crept past the pin and gradually inched its way down this false area and off the green, ended up taking a 6! Grr. Whats really annoying is that the hole does not have a false back to it, especially one as severe as that, from the centre of the green the putting surface rises 2 feet past the green fringe and into the rough, there is no steep drop off. Then to make it worse hole 5 had a medium pin cut on what must have been a 5 degree slope, played my approach past the pin roughly 14 feet, then played a little dink putt down that just missed right and rolled off the green and 20 yds down the fairway. guys, you have to be able to stop a putt at the hole on any regulation course, i could not have played that putt any softer and still rolled off the green. Three shots gone in 2 holes that had nothing to do with poor play, i did rally and finished -7 but it should have been so much better...well annoyed!
Please get rid of these courses from the tour roster, they have no place.

Amendment: Hole 5 was actually a chip that rolled past pin and off green, not a putt, just checked my recording... they tend to hold more pace than a putt so hard to judge if its a a problem outcome. however, that medium pin is still cut on a slope that would never make regulation.

Kenny,
You should be aware that the Medium pin setting for us at PGLS works differently from when you host a lobby game.
We select pins on the course by number, and don't actually follow a easy, medium, hard designation.
Because we produce a mix of these pins in a round, some which will give a player a chance to catch his breather with an easy location, some which are medium, and some which are downright difficult, we have to decide what 'label' we give it.
We are restricted to those labels the game recognizes, otherwise we would happy call out setting for pins 'Custom'.
You should not assume any pin is actually as labelled.
