French Lick "jerky"

Post by BOWHUNTER615 »

Hi...both the sound and the meter are really inconsistent with French Lick, which is being used for the 2nd round of the Open.
Sound cuts in and out, and the meter may or may not skip during shots. Very disappointing.

Craig,

The drop-outs of sound would indicate some process going on on your machine which is hitting the CPU badly, as the sounds are a consistent element on the course and should always play in completeness if all is well. That process on your computer is most likely also the root of your jerky meter as well.

I think its important that you identify all running processes you have, and find out exactly what they are doing. A candidate for the sort of inconsistent but identifiable changes in how the game plays can be possibly to do with updaters "phoning home" and other occasional programs. Some are triggered by times of inactivity, which I would not say the machine would bee seeing with the game running and you moving the mouse round the screen. Others, however, will just demand some CPU bandwidth whatever is going on, leading to the inconsistencies you are encountering.

This course is a perfect example why we should not play beta courses. The update made it worse plus it is a very unrealistic course. With all the courses available why do we use beta courses?

Yes in some respects that does make sense to only used full releases of courses.

Thanks for the feedback.
