on wgt at the end people were playing in county clubs and solo which meant no one was going into the m&g and meeting people. golf is a social game in real golf and on here. the reasons for wgtls shutting down will repeat here im sorry to say

the social end of this is to each their own, you can not force people to be social.
the reason im here is to play the tourneys. my social skills suck at times because i live by a code
i speak what is on my mind at any cost, im not PC at all and could careless what i say and how it may affect others.
i take no crap from people before i just ignore them and set them outside my social circle. as i have aged i have even found out i dislike the heck out of voice chat all it does is slow down the play, not to mention some of the immature adults you may run across in a chat room. im not here to joke around and all that im here to play a game. i consider this to be a study of the game of golf and physics of the game as played by the game.
some think im to serious but thats just me, and has always been.

i do spend time daily playing MP and have fun with it, play with mostly the same folks
but that is when i can't find any tourneys i wish to play .

Honestly i find theres no difference in my scoring playing solo or with someone.....my scores are generally the same.....i play Pairs and PGA18 with Perc most weeks and really enjoy playing with someone with simular skills and at the same pace.....playing solo for me can get very boring after a while and i tend to play too fast and mess up some shots.....i understand the rhythm thing and time constraints, cant play every tourney with someone but the occasional round i think most players cound manage that(and mite enjoy it, like i do)

funny you say that Mark as i played a tourney round yesterday with cubbies
he is better then me but we both pretty much play the same style and speed so it was good
and i did better then the round i played on my own, since we are both on the same level and are
hit and on to the next shot people i would welcome more tourney rounds with him, so i may change over time but finding the right folks to tourney with is the key.
i really enjoyed the alt shot we all got together on the other day and would welcome another of those anytime.
been chasing you through leaderboards for a while now good to get a chance on watching how you do it.

Dave that was very well said and amesome, i usually myself dont play the tournies with others but if u find the right person then its very exciting and fun, for me its all a timing thing go to get in a rhythm to acquire a high percentage to hit the snap, to slow snap goes bye bye, to fast thinking becomes muddled and lethargic, and i myself loved the other day when we played alt with Dave,Mark,Perc all tp players is a big deal to be on the same level and takes the enjoyment of the charts, dont get me wrong i have many g8 friends that are at a lower level that i play with and mostly its the same level of enjoyment.. So in closing i would offer a thumbs up for future pairings and games involving high levels of competition to further my skill,s thank you for your time and patience have a great day see you on the links cubbies out.....

it would be great for us lesser players to play with the top boys and learn a few things. similar to what you guys have been saying. we all have our ways and like dave i can be outspoken but most people know me and take what i say as a joke because i never ever get personal or nasty. all have fun at whatever way you like to play.

My pard Mark and I play most of the PGA 18 rounds together and the key, as the others have mentioned, is pace of play. I am nowhere near his level of skill but I keep up with the pace and vise versa. This is not to say that we rush, but play in a way that is comfortable for us both. It boggles my mind the time it takes for some players to make a shot, what in the hell are they doing? Practice swings are available at the amateur level, is that it? There can be very little social interaction with the slow players, in my opinion, because they take so much time to make a shot, how can one maintain any sort of chat? I am also not a fan of voice chat in the game, but I am a fairly fast typist. It is nothing personal, I know some of these guys that are slow and I know they are great folks, I just can't muster the patience most of the time.

Bottom line, I want to play at a good pace, not rush, but stay in focus.

i must agree with dave and affo on solo play.I seem to play better on average playing solo because i am used to a tempo and rythm which seems to help.
I do however like to mix it up and play multiplayer now and again more for social reasons rather than bothering about my scores.
As for the -16 debate, if your in the right frame of mind and with a bit of luck this score is achievable (not consistantly).
me personaly: i split tours between solo and multiplayer.
anyways ! thats my shillings worth lol .

as for the voice chat stuff since i brought it up i will elaborate
here is a pic of the front page on the Caddyshack site look in the mumble chat widget and you will see
a member by the name of Explosive Diarrhea Sufferer , yesterday is was pierced nipple lover. seems this is the mentality
of some of the folks i have run across lately using voice chat, so i hung the headphones up.
to me that is low to no class and i sure would not stop by that chat for a game or even a few words.
it is a shame the way the site has gone this route, im sure it was not old crocs intentions,and was not mine when i helped him put it together.
