The holiday season is approaching, so I would like to use this time to talk to everyone about how we can "together" find a solution to the following "problem" for discussion. I will use the current PGLS Open.
There are currently 40 players playing this tournament and the cut is currently - 134 strokes after two rounds. As the top 5 players have scores of - 115 strokes to - 126 strokes after two rounds, "normal" players with scores of - 135 strokes on average after two rounds have no chance of playing in the remaining matches, even though their scores would normally go further in any regular, real tournament.
I really ask myself now, does it make sense to continue playing tournaments where you basically never have a chance, because 5-6 players distort the cuts for everyone else to such an extent that normal players no longer have a chance to continue playing?
I would therefore like to ask the community for all the "normal" players how we can work together to regulate this "unfairness". Having to live with this "grievance" in the long term is now just frustrating for me and I personally find this situation unacceptable in the long term. Let's work together with Mark to find a solution that satisfies everyone before more and more players leave PGLS out of frustration.
With this in mind, I would ask everyone to have an objective discussion.

Re: We need a Solution for all
The cut isn't based on the total score for the first 2 rounds but on the number of players completing both rounds. Currently 21 players have completed both rounds and as per the rules ...
rules.php?ruleset=9
75% (rounded up) of the 21 will make the cut eg 16 players, of which the 16th player has a total score of 134.

Re: We need a Solution for all
Mark, i understand but in my Eyes that didn't help for the general problem. Over the last years many ask to fix this discrepance. And honest if their would be found no solution till end of summer season i by my own will then stop to play longer oin PGLS because it makes no longer Sense then. I'm for example the last one of a bigger Group. All leave the last Year only about this unfair issue.

You implied in the above that players are distorting the cut when they actually aren't. To prove my point I faked my own scores ...I really ask myself now, does it make sense to continue playing tournaments where you basically never have a chance, because 5-6 players distort the cuts for everyone else to such an extent that normal players no longer have a chance to continue playing?
which hasn't affected the Cut Predictor and would be the same if there were 5 or 6 players with my score.

I'm not sure I understand the "problem" as it's perceived here. I get that it can be frustrating seeing the same names at the top of the leaderboard and not feeling like it's a competitive game, but realistically, what could even be changed? I think it's best just to focus on your own play.

I can understand to some extent where you are coming from. I have just missed the cut by 1 or 2 strokes a number of times and it can be a little frustrating.
However as Caincalaway mentioned I figure it just means that I need to concentrate on improving my own game.
