Hi to all,
PGLS would like to announce the beginning of its newest gameplay format. Our Skillz - Closest to the Pin format is designed as a great way to hone your game, test yourself in a variety of conditions, and to take part in friendly competition and rivalry both head-to-head and across the membership via the leaderboard.
The format will run from Midnight GMT Wednesday into Thursday and closes on Monday at midnight GMT. The event is closed throughout Tuesday.
Utilizing the Challenge tees built into many great courses, you will find yourself placed a various locations around the course. This could be fairway, rough, bunkered, behind a tree-line, short-sided... all manner of tricky situations.
Your mission is to play as close to the pin as you can. Life is not a rehearsal, and we believe that Skillz - CTP shouldn't be either, and so players get one chance and move on.
Playing for points, a shot to the green will gain higher scores the closer it ends up to the pin, but you will lose points rapidly for missing a green or finding a trap on your attempt.
The Skillz Challenge is played over a total of 36 holes, and comes this week from Chicago Oaks. The format does not score Order of Merit points... members just compete each week for the title of PGLS's Sharpshooter of the Week.
Sign up via 'PGLS Participation' as usual.
We hope you enjoy the new format, and wish you all the best of luck in showing us how to pepper those pins!

Quite a challenge !
There is an issue in the sorting of scores upon the LeaderBoard.... needs reversing...!!

Hard to see why I made that post above, but after Round 1, where I scored a minus... I was top, in 1st place with just two of us on the LB. Now I have played more rounds, it seems to have corrected itself...
Re: Introducing PGLS 'Skillz - Closest to the Pin'
Hmmmm Round 4 didn't feel right. Made two shots onto the green, with the ball being around 9ft from pin and suffered approx 300-500 minus points. Either that round is extremely tough or something is amiss. Granted, most of my shots never found the green, but the two that did, still suffered minus hits..

cheers for the feedback ian, sure the guys will look into as soon as they can.
The scores may be unrealistic, or even a joke but heyho, that's what we got.
Play well and enjoy your game everyone!
btw, not a game for snowflakes.

The reverse ordering has been sorted for both the in-game leaderboard and PGLS one.
Regarding scoring issues I will investigate this.
