what a farce
I have had to abandon my pgls opening round due to a appalling drop it gave me on the 3rd hole. I went on to the rocks and it gave me 2 options, I took the 2nd option and it left me 1800 meters or so from the hole, so gave it a swipe and it left me OOB, what chance did I have, this in my opinion was ridiculous, I thought all aspects were checked before release, but thinking about it, no one is perfect and it could possibly have been over looked, apologies to those concerned, its what I call frustrating and my thoughts just poured out. So can anything be done for me to continue? penalty shots accepted if need be.

Re: what a farce
I've removed your Round 1 save game on the PGLS Open.
Mike will let the course designer know about this so he can check it.

Re: what a farce
I have fed this back to the designer, but two points to keep in mind.
Firstly, players are in control of their own drops. You MUST check if the drop it gives you is unreasonable or plain wrong, because the drop works on the basis of (a) where you crossed the hazard, or (b) the first point immediately in line with that point, in a straight line backwards from the ball with two club lengths relief in the lateral movement.
If you find yourself with an impossible drop, then use the 'drop ball' icon on the games controls and it will give you a rehit option, even if you have gone beyond the post-shot screen, but before you accept the drop.
Secondly, yes, we try to check all courses THAT WE ARE GIVEN THE ACCESS TO, before they come into play. The PGLS Open course this month was given to another tour provider to run checks on. Once the designer and the testing team at another provider decide it is time for release, we include it here, and trust that they have checked such issues. What is helpful, and especially so for courses which we are in control of, is if members would play, test, note down and report issues in our Beta Testing forum area. That way we can feed the information back to designers and get them fixed before they cause issues, at least with the courses which we have agreement to do so with.

Re: what a farce
i carded a 68 in round 2 thanks to a solid back 9... I think it was hole 3 where my ball rolled under the terrain then underneath a bunker, took 5 shots to play it out, ended up with a 9 for the hole. Even though i carded a 68 i kinda lost interest in the remainder of the event due to this. In hindsight i think it was too early to include a course like that into a tour event, they will be finding issues with certain areas for months to come, it's that kind of design. I'm sure Rob will eventually sort it out, just a bit too early for comps imo.

Re: what a farce
If approved elsewhere and released, then we take it as read that it is ready for competition.
Yes, there are some odd effects going on with texture overlays not matching the laid terrain, and in hindsight we would not use again. However, if I have to quality control work that is supposedly done elsewhere, then the number of courses in use will fall dramatically.
I saw those problems on my first out -of-competition round on The Glen and knew as soon as I saw how the ball rolled into a position such as it did that a different strategy would be required to get out. Think along the lines of needing more elevation and more power, rather than playing out with a chip.
