skills rounds

Post by davefv92c »

have you guys ever thought about flipping this into 18 hole rounds
after all it would only be 18 shots per round, or maybe adding an 18 with the 9.
the reason i ask is this tourney is a great help in learning the short game.
at it seems to be much liked.
just asking

Not really no.

It counts for nothing regarding stats or Order of Merit points and is here for the fun of it, although some would disagree it's fun at all

We could I suppose mix it up a bit with 9 and 18 holes.

was just finding last weeks head count dang i would have thought more would
be playing these tourneys. i use this for short game best way to learn and be able to see what the top player
are doing with their short game, compare and watch myself get better on the leaderboards. makes sense to me.lol
maybe try an 18 hole this week just to see what happens. in the meantime i will be thinking of ways to promote this tourney on the PP forums.
maybe gain some new members. is there anyway we can put up a tourney in the public anyone could play be it a PGLS member or not,and is it something we would be allowed to do? if we could put up say a free tourney like the skills tourney,a couple times a month.
call it the PGLS Skillz Tourney open to all, i can not see why PP would care they dont put many up, it would be doing them another free service but i believe it could bring in new members throughout the game's life.give it some thought i would take care of all the promotion on the PP forums. would be good fun for the new and older folks and might get them to our door.

Non PGLS players can take part in the tournies we have listed in PUBLIC - TOURNAMENTS if they are invited.

However they can't see them in the above location to host one if they are not signed up to PGLS.

when a new member signs up is it auto once they tic the tourneys they want to be involved
to be listed, or is there something you have to do on your end to get the tourneys to open for them?

what im getting at , is there a way if we can get them to click the welcome page. maybe put a box on there where
they could put their steam name and transition into the tourney without a full site sign up. something like this would be a plus to get the guys on the border of joining an offsite. maybe do 2 - 4 round events a month 2 week window... no stats to be kept, they will not change any member stats.
i think we could catch some, i also think it would put a good light on us with PP. would be giving the whole community something to play and more fun.
im just throwing this stuff out there.
could you ask to use the public tourney Api? if you can do that we just call them fun tourneys sponsored by PGLS for all.
people might think PP is trying to give the players more and that would be a big plus for PGLS and PP

When a player joins PGLS they are signed up to no tournies or ladders whatsoever.

As it currently stands access to host tournaments in PUBLIC - TOURNAMENTS requires someone to have a server where files can be hosted etc. It is not straightforward.
